💬 Secuenciando is officially starting its 4th season: "The economy of turns". This season's theme is turn-taking, covering diverse aspects of its organization. We will have data sessions in Spanish with data of multiparty interactions. #EMCA

📣Dear bluesky contacts, I will be #opentowork at the end of September as my wonderful post-doc in #emca within the Moving Social Care project sadly comes to an end. 1/6🧵
#ICCA2026 What do we know about 'topicality' in #EMCA? What has been done so far? Tomorrow I am presenting the findings of our scoping review (Luis Manuel Olguin, @gchavezlazo.bsky.social & me) 💬 Theme Session: Topicality and topic management across languages. 📍 CCIS L1-140 🕗 9:00 - 9:30 AM
First time going to #ICCA2026 !!! 🇵🇪✈️🇨🇦 It's a pleasure to meet good old friends in person, to get to know wonderful people from the community, and to participate in very fruitful workshops all day long. ;) Tomorrow the conference officially starts. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Very happy to share this. This report shows a tiny bit of what we have done so far and what we are currently doing as an #EMCA study group in Spanish! Thank you to @gchavezlazo.bsky.social, @bbasileg.bsky.social and @belvelvet.bsky.social for being part of this!
New post: Secuenciando: A place where CA learners sequence together https://www.conversationanalysis.org/secuenciando-a-place-where-ca-learners-sequence-together/ #EMCA
Two weeks ago, the 15th Congress of the Latin American Chapter of the Society for Psychotherapy Research (@sprofficial.bsky.social) took place in Lima, Peru 🇵🇪 Along with my supervisor, Marcos Herrera, and a group of colleagues, we organized and facilitated a workshop on #EMCA & psychotherapy!
They're here! Emotionography: Theory, Research and Practice is published today. A book Alexa Hepburn and I have been building toward for thirty years. Here's why we think it matters. 🧵 Available now from APA with links to Kindle and Vital Source - www.apa.org/pubs/books/e...
An #EMCA -related question: Would you treat responses to personal state inquiries / howareyou's (such as "Fine", "Lousy" or "Great!") as "assessments" or not? How can they be best called? And what are the analytical/emic reasons for that? DM or replies are welcome! :)
👁️🗨️ Secuenciando is officially opening its 3rd season: "Designing turns, constructing actions". This season's theme is turn design, covering diverse aspects of that area. We will have data sessions in Spanish with current data from Peru's general election and its presidential debates. #EMCA
💬 How we work: We work through 'seasons' of regular readings and meetings. Each one lasts an academic term. Seasons are themed, covering a specific topic or area of #EMCA inquiry. In the first two, we introduced CA and explored sequence organization. In April, a new, third season starts!
💬 Who we are: Secuenciando is a study group that holds weekly data sessions 🔎 and discussions of #EMCA literature. 📚 Data and discussions are in Spanish, and schedules usually follow South American time zones. Entirely student-led, and mainly composed of undergraduate & graduate students. 🙌
Secuenciando just got its own BlueSky account! Now, on this page, we will continue sharing updates on our study group — one devoted to learning, developing, and promoting conversation analysis locally in Peru 🇵🇪 and South America 🌎. #EMCA
📍 Iwakuni, Japan 🇯🇵 Visiting family, walking through a valley and watching how the cherry trees start to bloom right as winter ends. 🌸
Perhaps one of the most interesting #EMCA papers I have ever read. Schegloff's "On some questions and ambiguities in conversation" (1984). Are interrogative forms the ultimate basis for hearing an utterance as doing questioning? What is the role of language in making actions recognizable as such?
After #fieldwork in Satipo, Peru 🇵🇪 Had some conversations on how to go through the Amazon, the rivers and the forest itself "If you know how to listen to the forest, you'll never get lost" I understood: when you know where the birds meet, where the anteaters go, you know where you are/where to go
This year we launched an #EMCA study group in Peru 🇵🇪, mainly composed of undergraduate students, called Secuenciando. As the year comes to an end, Secuenciando has officially wrapped up its second season — this time focused on sequence organization! (1/3)
It's nearly time for CA day! I'm so:::::: looking forward to the **18th** year of #EMCA @darg-sessions.bsky.social @lborouniversity.bsky.social having made a tragic diary error last year and missing it. Here's the registration link and terrific programme: darg.lboro.ac.uk/event/ca-day...

Last month @gchavezlazo.bsky.social and I presented some preliminary findings from a scoping review we're conducting with Luis Manuel Olguin – one that maps #EMCA work on topicality in talk-in-interaction! Had an amazing time sharing #CA research at our department's annual #Linguistics conference!
Yesterday the “CA & Healthcare Interactions” workshop came to a close! These two full days were packed with fascinating lectures and stimulating hands-on exercises, and they were absolutely worth it, even with the sleep schedule adjustments and the 3 a.m. wake-ups! (1/2) #emca #conversationanalysis

Dear #EMCA community, Secuenciando’s first season, “Intro to CA,” has successfully come to an end! We read a variety of papers and book chapters covering the fundamentals of Conversation Analysis and had the chance to immerse ourselves in a couple of data sessions in Spanish.
Just now, we started a new season centering sequence organization. If you want to check it out I’ll let the link here: www.instagram.com/p/DMvXz4Xs9z...

Hi everyone! My name’s Belen and I’m a Linguistics Student at PUCP 📍🇵🇪 With some dear friends and colleagues, we created an interdisciplinary group in which we study #ConversationAnalysis (AC), called “Secuenciando”. We started last term and we’re really proud of the work we’ve done so far :)
