Rewatched Mamma Mia 2 last night with my brother and his husband (their first dance was to an ABBA song) and friends (who wore the “Gimme Gimme Gimme A Man” shirt we wore for their bachelor party). It was all delightful, but the best part was remembering and finding this gem from the NYT review.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
Rated PG-13. "Singing," "dancing," "sex" and Christine Baranski. Running time: 1 hour 54 minutes.

As Kagan notes in her dissent, the Court opted not to hear the due process parental rights argument against bans on gender-affirming medical care in Skrmetti, basically setting up a regime where parents can force their trans children back into the closet but cannot help them out of it

NEW: SCOTUS partially grants the request in Mirabelli v. Bonta, relating to California policies protecting against forced outing of trans students by teachers to parents, over the dissent of the Democratic appointees. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
No. 25A810
ELIZABETH MIRABELLI, ET AL. U. ROB BONTA,
ATTORNEY GENERAL OF CALIFORNIA, ET AL.
ON APPLICATION TO VACATE INTERLOCUTORY STAY ORDER
[March 2, 2026]
PER CURIAM.
Before us is an application to vacate a Court of Appeals order staying a permanent injunction entered by a District Court on behalf of parents and teachers who claim that certain California policies violate their rights under the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment and the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The parents object that these policies prevent schools from telling them about their children's efforts to engage in gender transitioning at school unless the children consent to parental notifi-cation. The parents also take issue with California's requirement that schools use children's preferred names and pronouns regardless of their parents' wishes. The teachers object to their compelled participation in the implementation of the State's policies.

Catch me ranting for twenty solid minutes about Christians denying the alt-right Christian Nationalists "aren't real Christians" because yes! They are! The fire is inside the house! When there's a fire in your/our house, that is ON US to put it out!

if billionaires aren't human, they aren't "monsters" (because those don't actually exist), they're animals. and you can't hold an animal to account for their actions. billionaires are humans. Nazis are humans. they are CHOOSING to act how they do.

I'm in Los Angeles visiting my brother and his husband, and being in their home for the first time really solidifies that hot damn, my brother really found someone who's more obsessed with both cats AND Doctor Who than I am??? Which I knew in theory but is WILD to see in its native habitat.

Now that I'm back here and connecting with some new folks, quick intro! I'm Avery: she/her | mid-thirties | queer | Maine. Passions include sci-fi, poetry, sapphic romance, Waffle House, yapping at length, and ALL cats, but particularly my girl Lady Catelyn Stark, pictured below.

Avery, a white woman with brown hair in a gray t-shirt, is lying on her side with her head resting on a very unimpressed-looking cat. Catelyn (said cat) has white facial and neck features, and black/brown/gray markings on her nose, head, and body. Avery is smiling widely, and Catelyn is allowing this interaction because this photo was taken about thirty minutes before her dinnertime and she's a lot more tolerant than usual in this window.

Hey so just fyi, if you're abandoning trans rights you're abandoning all civil rights At that point what the fuck is the point of the democracy you're willing to sacrifice trans people for This actually isn't hard at all, quit making it pretend hard because you finally feel scared too
