🚨🚨 Abdul El Sayed wins the Democratic Senate primary in Michigan, NBC News projects. He defeats Haley Stevens.
NYT model has El-Sayed winning with +1.4 but you can see how the race has tightened over time. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
Today, for the first time in New York City history, 2,000 two year-olds received offers for FREE 2-K. A big step for those who take baby steps. A big step towards a City every New Yorker can afford.
With each drop over the last several hours El-Sayed has been gaining on Stevens in Wayne County. He now trails by just 7%, earlier in the night he was losing by 12%. #MISen
People were hoping for a quick decision tonight. That hasn't happened. I know from 2024 that some counties won't report until the wee hours of the morning. But the New York Times is projecting that the ~3% spread we see between El-Sayed and Stevens is likely to stay in that range.
70.7 % votes have been counted in Michigan. El-Sayed leads Stevens now by 37 771 votes.
MS Now late night panel is acting like Haley Stevens is winning despite El-Sayed expanding his margin since they came on. What is this @msnowreports.bsky.social?
Which would translate into an El-Sayed victory. Stevens needs to get more out of there to offset losing so badly in the rest of Michigan.
Update: Live from Kornacki Cam Just computed that once vote comes in from Detroit, Stevens may net 30,000 more votes plurality there El-Sayed is leading statewide by about 25,000 statewide. www.nbcnews.com/video/kornac...
I can't see not giving a bit more to blue states in a future admin to somewhat balance the books. The damage has, however, been done. Science can't just be turned back on with a Presidential election. It might take a generation before it's all fixed.
Where are the other blue states (CA excepted)?
I've warned that Donald Trump and Republicans across the country are working to rig the system and weaken voting rights. Today, the Maryland General Assembly took action to pass a constitutional amendment that, if ratified, will ensure that Marylanders have the final say over their representation.
How fucked in the head do you have to be to oppose AIPAC on principle, yet be perfectly fine with antisemitism? Being against AIPAC doesn’t require tolerating antisemitism.
BREAKING: Republicans are no longer worried about deficits and debt Bessent: "I'm not as bothered by it ... if '26 is flat to slightly up, this isn't wasteful social spending "
He's right. The FCC should abandon this unlawful attempt to consolidate broadcast media into oblivion. Congress set this cap in federal law, and only Congress can change it.
Despite DeLay’s warning, the Trump FCC appears ready to eliminate the rule at its meeting this week.
In the occupied West Bank, 14 year-old Aws al-Nasaan was killed in a school shooting. Then, the Israeli army fired tear gas at students. His principal told me the police never even talked to anyone at the school. They have no reason to believe the killer was brought to justice.
Rep. Max Miller: "[Trump] called me and he said, 'Max, it's gonna be a tough race.' And he said, 'I don't know if you're going to be able to pull this one out.'"
🤯 Rep. Max Miller's interview with Jake Tapper was one of the most self-destructive things I've ever witnessed on cable news. Here's the whole thing:
🤯 Max Miller's interview with Tapper is an utter trainwreck 🤯

Tom Emmer on Republicans trailing Dems by 8 points in the generic ballot: "Right now there are great things happening in our economy. Nobody wants to talk about 78 cent eggs, nobody wants to talk about milk that's under $2. No no. They want to focus on gas prices."
more deaths, destruction, and chaos caused by the absolute fucking idiots at DOGE
Before stephensi arrived in 2013, Djibouti was on the cusp of declaring malaria eradicated. In 2012, there were just 27 cases. Two years later, cases shot up to nearly 1,700... and in 2020, there was an explosion: more than 70,000 cases. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/u...
But Trump doesn't think Miller should resign or drop out of the race.
"Liberal bubble" has only ever meant anywhere where right wing perspectives aren't artificially elevated and forced into everyone's feeds.
"The Treasury Secretary said the deal would allow freedom of movement in the strait when asked whether Iran would be allowed to charge a toll." So... they're going to be allowed to charge a toll. Trump is doing a bunch of "last chance" stuff to set the stage to surrender to Iran.
Unfortunately for David Ellison this is transparently laughable after what Bari Weiss has already done at CBS and it will be very funny if her genius moves fuck up a $100 billion merger www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/o...
Easy to see how he won 43 Club Championships with this masterful putting stroke.
The tricky part for a future Dem Admin is going to be finding a way to divest the US govt from these companies without tanking their stock price & hurting them over the long term. What Trump is doing is a fundamental tenet of communism while he distracts by claiming Dems are.
No one in public life talks about red states this way.
Trump: "Look at the blue cities. What do they have in common? They're all dirty. They're filthy dirty. Their streets are dirty. Their streets smell. Their storefronts are broken. Their trees are all gross. Everything about the place is dirty. It's really all of them."
NEWS: Former Trump press secretary and Rep. Max Miller's ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Grisham, has now filed a temporary restraining order against him
The richest person in the world, an avowed white supremacist, today again posted "the next step is getting rid of 'source code' entirely and just making an efficient binary directly with AI" because he has no idea how anything works, not even the basics of industries he is in.
Folks I won’t tell you not to feel your feelings, but this is rage bait. He’s talking about expanding beyond politics into things like live sports.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
