Does anyone have any reading recommendations for creative-critical practice in book history (both terms broadly conceived, as they can only be)? Very accepting of the 're-'s (remaking etc) but also interested in other approaches.

it's so frustrating not being able to distinguish between 'I'm searching for the wrong thing and need to go back and rethink' and 'I'm searching for the right thing but google is just utterly useless now'.

So happy to finally share the news that my book, “A History of Uncertainty: Science between the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe,” will be out in Spring 2027 by the University of Pittsburgh Press. I still can't believe it's now beyond my hands and on its way to meeting its readers.

What do you all use for your notes? I've been using Evernote since 2014 but it's almost doubling in price so. Is Obsidian the best alternative? bonus points for something I could move my Evernote files to without too much agony.
