yep. i think about people starting out — when we were coming up you needed a cheap laptop, internet, and some determination. now you need a credit card. one of the last remaining avenues of social mobility (and a way for us nerds to find our people) replaced by yet another accelerator of inequality

On iOS, this remains impossible. As long as Apple’s browser engine ban remains in place, no browser vendor can bring features like Web Serial to iPhone or iPad. Apple alone decides what the Web on iOS is allowed to do, and which capabilities are reserved for native apps. 🧵(8/11)
