When disabled people/many people who work on disability/health pointed to the dangers of this kind of framing since COVID, they were usually mocked ("oh you think everything is eugenics") or ignored. But normalising the idea that the deaths of disabled people are desirable/reassuring is dangerous.

Not exactly a rectruitment approach. For every cop suspended with pay, they need new hires to fill in the gaps, so two 6 figure salaries for one position.
I have a friend: blonde, 5'10, ballet dancer and teacher; can't go anywhere without undue police attention. If the kids aren't in the car, she's a moving target for Vancouver police and North Van RCMP; doesn't help in dealing with a life of repeated traumas/targetting.
The Ottawa Police has a problem with women: sexual harassment, sexual assaults, sexual misconduct. The number of examples of wrongdoing: from sergeants to the police union president who himself is accused of sexual assault: www.hilltimes.com/2026/06/24/t...
