Felt like local online DC news was dying with death again of DCist and the evisceration of Post Local. But now we have NOTUS, The 51st, City Cast DC, Axios etc in addition to Washingtonian and Post still doing good reporting and as a consumer seems a lot more to track/follow??

The revenue comp here doesn’t account for sales or payroll taxes generated by streeteries and so it’s silly. That said it’s true that most streeteries weren’t ADA complaint or busy and had no future. The real truth is somewhere in the middle, written on a napkin and allowed within 5 feet of a tree.

City Cast DC with a very deeply reported and thorough piece about streateries. My take - There needed to be fees and actual regulations about these and there were bound to be growing pains, which is happening now dc.citycast.fm/business-dev...
