Friendly reminder to transit advocates that not all infill station opportunities are created equal, and the Gold Line has the potential to do something regionally significant for transit that is bigger than football and doesn’t take a decade+ to deliver.

(1/4) Because the existing track is curved, steep, & elevated, a big new track segment would be needed, which would involve acquiring land - land that the city wants developed.
The revenue comp here doesn’t account for sales or payroll taxes generated by streeteries and so it’s silly. That said it’s true that most streeteries weren’t ADA complaint or busy and had no future. The real truth is somewhere in the middle, written on a napkin and allowed within 5 feet of a tree.

As someone who does YouTube, most candidates described as "authentic" are just… good on camera. And if that's what you want, that's fair! But you need to know that looking "natural" on camera is hella work! That's not "authentic" you're seeing, that's a high degree of media savvy. And budget.

Office of Campaign Finance is fining @janeese4dc.bsky.social's campaign $16,000 for having "violated multiple provisions of District campaign finance law and the Fair Elections Program." OCF is also fining the union-backed Safe & Affordable D.C. PAC $4,000.
