Any time I see a big-name player allegedly available at the deadline that isn't a free agent at the end of the season, I assume they aren't really available, their team is just willing to move them if it means getting an offer so stupid they have no choice but to say yes.

Very good outing for lefty Jason Gilman yesterday for Salem: 2.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K Boston selected Gilman in the 16th round of last years draft out of Kean. Had a delayed start to his season due to an oblique injury. Intriguing name to follow.
