I'm all for "climate adaptation," but honestly I don't know how we can adapt to this level of climate disruption of agriculture. Farmers can't "adapt" to chronic drought and heatwaves. Crops don't "adapt" -- they wither. I don't think we fully understand where we're headed.

Cruelty is the foundation of those 'policies'. Making us feel threatened is the purpose. We have no physical proof of our status, we are at the mercy of a glitch. We are aliens, and we must be made aware of it. Reform's 'plan' to strip us of our Leave to remain is just a darker shade of grey.

Can Sports commentators (in this case Alistair Cook at the cricket) stop the “glorious evening”, “ lovely sunset” etc when there has been no rain in England for 40 days, there have been more days over 30° this year than in previous 20 years etc… and local cricket team outfields are parched & brown
Pretty sure 95% of population have either given up or don't care about or don't understand the likely impact of climate change over next 20 years (hint: this year will seem like a great one) and, as such, won't give up the easyJet low-cost flights or the desire to have more stuff or their car etc..

Was on a supporters club pre-season tour to Netherlands/Germany by coach in 80s. Met players at training session, drank beers in MacDonalds, had a wild ferry trip. So most of UK is in unprecedented drought conditions and yet there is no ban on fires, charcoal BBQs (not just disposable ones) or fireworks anywhere near woodland or heath etc. pretty much all cantons here have bans in place (even traditional 1.Aug firework displays cancelled).

Our criteria for success are disastrously skewed. In my view, a successful person is one who does more good than harm, on any scale. On this measure, most billionaires are massive failures, while humble folk in my neighbourhood who look after other people are highly successful.

I really would like to hear on actual positive things that come from Data Centres or AI (I do have some here from health sector here but that’s it)…that actually mean we should be spending billions on them at the expense of ordinary citizens
