The EUBURN-SILEX campaign has just ended after a dozen flights over 🇫🇷 fires and 🇨🇦 plumes transported over the 🇫🇷 country. A comprehensive database was acquired using a set of innovative ✈️ in-situ and remote sensing instruments. Next phase is the postprocessing of the database acquired. 🔥 #EUBURN

It's official. 2025 is now the third worst wildfire year on record in Canada. A study from 2018 examining fire-regime changes in Canada over the prior 57 years showed the fire season had been starting approximately one week earlier and ending one week later. Probably longer now.

🧪🛰️🔥🌍 It is that time of the year when satellite monitoring of fires and #smoke in S. America has to be more dedicated. Fires have been going already for a while (since May particularly in N. Argentina and Paraguay and increasing north with time) but none have been v. intense or putting much smoke.
