Moneris, the Canadian system used to process 5 billion of transactions annually for 325,000 points of sale, is being sold by the owners (RBC and BMO) to a US private equity firm. I don't think this protects Canadian digital sovereignty. I signed a petition for Ottawa to intervene, and you can too.

On Facebook, Wil Wheaton made a Rocky Horror Show post that ended with the phrase, "Janet! Doctor Scott! Janet! Brad! Rocky!" And I expected the comments to be comment-after-comment of people saying "Ugh!" But, unusually, that wasn't the case. Am I an old?
Canadians: I need insight. I used the phrase "I didn't twig to the fact that..." on a Discord chat and that lead to a "Are you British?" From an American. I *think* that's a normal thing to say here in Canada, but I also watched a lot of British TV growing up. Would you say that?

I saw this on Facebook, and I feel like it's a joke made for like ten people. I am, however, one of those people, and I love it.
Around a year ago, my partner and I watched Sook-Yin Lee's film, _Paying for It_ (based on the Chester Brown graphic novel of the same name). There are recurring scenes in the film in which the fictionalized Chester has lunch with a group of his comic-making friends.
I swear to god, at first glance, I thought it was a photo. The rendering is incredible.

Oh, man. It looks like they've changed the comm badges in season 2 of _Starfleet Academy_. I'm not a "complainer of modern Trek"™️ but I do think that modern Trek changes uniforms way too frequently.
Apparently there's a (another) remake of _The Thomas Crown Affair_. While I generally wish Hollywood would embrace more original material, the new version looks good. Going by the trailer, Michael B. Jordan really carries off the suave energy that Pierce Brosnan channelled in the 1999 version.

The YouTube algorithm suggested that I watch a recording session of the song "Camelot" (from the musical of the same name). I've only ever seen one production of _Camelot_ (when I was in university at Waterloo), but my greatest familiarity with the song comes from a parody version in a FASS show.
I'm thinking about C4 (c4model.com) and what we mean by a "system" in the context of organizations that highly microservice-based.
