I'm ancient enough to remember when openly homophobic ballot measures passing were touted as "the way it is" by conservative pundits (Dem as well as Rep) and all us queers were told to shut up. Things change when they're seriously fought and the elite consensus becomes far more costly to hold.

If you're feeling down this election day, read this. While the dangers we face from anti-trans gentry in both parties are very real, so is our collective power. Whatever happens tonight, our solidarity and determination are our best hope. The best organizing happens outside campaign season.

it's really good that the only way for anyone to have any idea what the fuck is going on is to intentionally seek out trans-run alt media otherwise it's all propaganda by cis people for cis people to convince each other that they're pure of heart and what they're doing is fine

Once more, for the people in the back: we protect each other. Our communities are the only friends we can count on. Every politician, organization, and self-proclaimed ally who won't fight tooth and nail for us, who stalls or makes concessions on our behalf, is doing the work of the enemy.

I wrote this for a lot of reasons: because the Democratic shift to open anti-trans bigotry started well before this campaign season, because I was sick of incompetent servility from trans gentry "leaders" and because now, especially, trans communities need clear calls to fight. We're worth it.
