“If this was true, I would be in jail” is not a real profession of innocence; it is a brag about how strenuously the state protects the male right of private sphere violence against women and children.

And how rarely those things happen to abusers, esp. high-status white male abusers.

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social · 3w agoSo far this year we've had: the warmest winter on record in the mountain west, a record-shattering heat wave in Europe, once in a thousand year rainfall and flooding texas and forest fire smoke blanketing the mid west and the north east. Feels like something's going on with the climate!
If the head of US intelligence isn't able to say who won the election in 2020, then maybe he shouldn't be head of US intelligence.
I completely understand 1930-40s Germany now.
