Was just browsing a couple Trek subreddits and the response to these cards has generally been much more positive than in some MTG spaces. That includes a number of folks talking about trying to collect the full set or getting back in after potentially decades away. UB doing its job I guess.

Sounds like the Star Trek fans are happy with the cards. That's good to hear.

At the end of the day...with MTG, if a card is bringing people joy and not harming anyone....that good. Whether in-universe or universe beyond. A hobby is meant to be enjoyed. Also, with UB...designers want to make cards around there favorite things and you can tell by the love they put in it.

I've been so happy to see most of the cards today, but I'm still struggling in trying not to let the Trek negativity get me down. This is the first UB I've really been *this* pleased with and just lingering in the back of my mind is this post from Hobbes.

I got super demoralized around Spider-Man because I finally was really excited and everyone's absolute just immediate hate turned me off so completely

Abdul El-Sayed’s win represents a big blow to the politics of bygone days. Because if one campaign can show that *that* much money and *that* much old guard support doesn’t guarantee victory, it cracks open what can be imagined. It widens the aperture of what’s possible.

Will This Be AIPAC’s Biggest Defeat – Ever?

Prem was on hand in Michigan to witness the nail-biter between Abdul El-Sayed and Haley Stevens, which appears to have gone down as an astonishing failure for AIPAC.

At the risk of ruining my mentions, I want to remind my centrist friends that “vote blue no matter who” also applies when Dems nominate a leftist. We need to be single focused on winning back the Senate. We cannot do that without Michigan.

There are at least *three* right-wing text-based social media sites, one owned by The Actual President, another by the richest man in history, and all of which openly foster white supremacy. But those are not the ones every op-ed page in the western world is sneering about
