I’m excited to announce preorders for “Imperatives”—my first album under the Double Black Eye moniker. Imperatives was recorded with @beaunoise.bsky.social in July 2025 at Tiny Telephone Oakland, CA. It was one of the best musical experiences of my life, and I think it's my best work yet.

Tom Kelly@thmkly.bsky.social · 3w agoToday is the day :) Dedicated to the PCT, the preservation of our public lands, and to all human beings, in the spirit of slowing down, listening deeply, and being with the earth. #fieldrecording #nature #pct #pacificcresttrail #acousticecology #sound

someone should make a plugin that makes stuff sound like it was recorded on cassette
GOLDENER is Evelyn Davis (piano/voice) and me (modular synth/pro tools). Our self-titled EP is out today, on bandcamp and the streamers. I love these songs and am so proud of them. Unfortunately this is hello and goodbye.

Have decided Devo needs to be discussed more as one of the greatest American bands.
I just found out that they’re banning electronic music. Good. Probably won’t actually help, but at least someone is doing something!

Periodic statement that we don’t appreciate Juana Molina enough. This last album is so so so so good.
I could be projecting, but it feels like Robert Palmer truly loved a wide range of music, and would chase whatever caught his ear. An inspiring way to live and create. I am obsessed with his cover of The System. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NScQ...

Ned Raggett@nedraggett.bsky.social · 5mo agoI think the guy honestly really loved music and sought stuff out. Kinda like Robert Plant in a way.
Might fuck around and Realize that mind is the Great earth, clearly, dude
"This helps explain why the minimalist aesthetic can feel actively shaming in certain communities: it is a standard built by those who have always had the luxury of assuming they could replace what they lost."

dylan@gropeforluna.bsky.social · 5mo agothat album made young me appreciate texture and listening closely to quiet parts, and older me wouldn't mind an instrumental version to savor now and then. the NIN maxi singles and remix collections of that era were such a blessing to have access to amidst the otherwise boring musicland selection
astonished every time i revisit this album - a CD i grew up with and learned every moment of, but somehow find new depth with each return
Alan Burns@alanburns.bsky.social · 5mo agoThank you The Quietus, more websites should do this: recirculate a banger of an old article so that I can, however briefly, think "ah yes, 1994 was 20 years ago". Wonder if I still have a copy of this album. Should dust it off, loved NIN for a while until Witha Teetha just made me laugh at him
the stance you take when a screwdriver rolls off the edge of the workbench and heads towards the floor and you're not wearing any shoes; the move you make to assume it
wish someone would make a pedal or plugin that sounds like the preamps in a tascam 4-track
This record is out today: gonzobonkers rock for people that "did too much acid but got good grades". We opted for maximalism at every turn and Justin did an incredible job getting onto a big ol' slab of green plastic. Recorded at DNA Studios & Tiny Telephone, mixed by me at Best House.
