We need long-term fixes, and that's why this school is so important. Investing in healthcare is a choice. The BC Liberal-Conservatives chose to cut healthcare instead of building this medical school. We can't afford those cuts again.

Sitting at the CTV Newsdesk beside Lloyd Robertson and doing our silly little scene together was one of the finest and most surreal honours of my life. He was our first 'celeb cameo' on Corner Gas, and once he'd done it we were legitimized. Because no one was more legit than him. #RIPLloydRobertson

Rest in Peace Lloyd. You can have all the chips you want up there. @brentbutt.bsky.social @cdnhistoryehx.bsky.social

Corner Gas episode with Lloyd Robertson. "Well can I at least have a chip?" Lloyd asks Brent through the television.

It's Try-It Tuesday! 🇨🇦 If you're out shopping today, buy a Canadian-made product that 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 and tell us about it in the comments here ⬇️

A-frame sandwich board sign inside a grocery store, reading "Try It Tuesday!" in green and blue text with a maple leaf shopping bag icon and illustrations of bread, an apple, milk, jam, and a basket of produce. The sign stands in the store's entrance area near the produce section, with shoppers and carts visible in the background.

Some days I’m Okay with the Canadian press. It’s nice to see this as a headline rather than another market manipulating “Trump says” or “Trump IRS immunity stands” Here we’ve got the wheels turning in the right direction and are ready to simply move on

Signing off from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The 149 Canadians competing powered the country to a third place finish in overall medals. But it was more than sport. More than the medals. A showcase of humanity. Some final thoughts from the Friendly City.

No Frills when I first noticed this at the store I asked the staff about the signage and they said it was a directive from head office. This was just two weeks after they had a bin of oranges that said product of US and Canada… 🫪

The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
