After months of stress induced by Labour reform dickishness, a huge sigh of relief. Husband’s Indefinite Leave to Remain came through today. Onto citizenship next and another huge donation to the Home Office

My entire life I’ve never called it the FIFA World Cup. I’ve always called it the World Cup. Fans don’t give a shit about FIFA. If national teams showed up for a World Cup tournament not held by FIFA we would all watch it. World Cup is the brand. FIFA is nothing.

So. Holy shit on a cracker. I had my first hot flush tonight. I was at a Ginger Pig butcher class I’d booked. I nearly fainted. I actually threw up. Why does no one warn us about this shit? I’m on HRT. I’m now having periods every two weeks and now this?? Really?? I clearly need to up my dose

It is actually *very* simple: Being pro-immigration = being pro-British. Whatever problems immigration sometimes can bring in its own right, it is a driver of growth and the UK needs it. No matter how extreme policies get, these facts will *not* change. So this is not simply a choice for …

Sorry should have mentioned: 4th August 1626. The day 60 enslaved people from Africa were brought to England's first colony on St Christopher to labour on English tobacco plantations. This is the topic of my next book. I'll do a post/thread commemorating the 400th anniversary in August!

Well, happy "Germans get punched in their Nazi noses in Normandy" day to all who celebrate. Because I had this on my HDD from Twitter days, here is the write-up on the shenanigans of 2. Sicherungsdivision, who had a REALLY bad day today, 82 years ago. Good. #navalhistory @alanallport.bsky.social

Kriegsmarine Operations out of Le Havre on D-Day, 6 June 1944

Background The general story of the German defence against D-Day tends to focus on the land defences. While this is where the primary focus of combat action took places, it overlooks what was consi…

Reports that Reform councillors in Ipswich have been instructed to only speak to GB News and ignore requests from local media. This seems a new policy to avoid any kind of scrutiny. They tried to do the same on Nottinghamshire County Council.

That Reform is a nasty little racist party more intent on causing division than actually coming with any useful policies is hardly new, but this really takes the biscuit. Attempting to blackmail and threaten voters with some playground politics of performative cruelty is a new low even for them.

Reform want to round up migrants and detain them indefinitely in areas that don’t vote for them. Yet for most of our media, it’s those marching for Palestine who are creating hatred & fear. These disgusting plans are an affront to democracy — and must be fiercely opposed.

Also for the record there is a big fucking difference between a Trump saying "I refuse to read the 14th amendment or anything written about it because I don't believe in rights" and Lincoln saying "Fuck Taney, that shit about Black people not being able to get citizenship is atextual fuckery."

Another potentially controversial opinion (it's my week for them). Feeding learners everything via direct instruction and reinforcing it via 'retrieval practice' might make you feel like they are working their brains hard but actually we often think much harder when we have to puzzle things out.

Dear fellow Brits, from this Brit-American: Please don't come here. It's dangerous. You may be targeted, arrested and unlawfully detained - likely courtesy of ICE - without access to legal representation. I've told my family to stay away. Please boycott America. 🇬🇧💙 news.sky.com/story/englan...
