Ticket pre-sales for @pborobeerfest.bsky.social are looking, er, healthy. 20% up on last year. I was hoping it'd be the same if not a little more than last year, but if we're 20% up across the entire festival we're gonna need a *lot* more beer! 🤣

Ugh, I've gotta go out and get some shopping in. Really don't feel like it but I'm low on essentials :¬/
UK Cask list: pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php... (yeah yeah, we still need to add in all the tasting notes, but d'you know how long that takes!? and we couldn't keep this list a secret any longer!)
So, musk is bored of his rockets crashing on Earth he's now crashing them on the Moon I see.
IT'S RAINING!!!!! Of course it's raining, I've got to go out and cycle to a brewery to help fill kegs. The only activity I've had planned for the last month or so where I need to cycle and can't take the bus. But yay! Rain!
I got through most of the list. Will finish it off either in the pub this evening or over breakfast tomorrow.
I'm spending today (and it'll be all day) going through and finalising the beer list for @pborobeerfest.bsky.social and one thing I've noticed is we've not really gone in for as many "Festival Specials" as you used to see at a large festival. There's a few, but not the huge range that you used...

Weird, just had the power go out in the street for about 30 seconds. And now of course a load of house alarms are going off :¬/
Always hilarious to me that the true story of JK Rowling's harrowing and #relatable story of writing while unemployed was actually "she was fired from Amnesty International (!!) for writing her dumb novel on company time" m.economictimes.com/magazines/pa...
Had that dodgy number try calling again, on a Saturday afternoon. This time they hung up quickly, and sent a text straight away (faster than a non-automated system could send) saying to call them on a more believable number to avoid "further enforcement visits and fees" Still reeks of scam.
US craft beer and Japanese food?!! It really does work, trust me! More here: 👇
In Beer Today's exclusive monthly column, Lotte Peplow, Brewers Association’s American craft beer ambassador for Europe, looks at pairing Japanese flavours with American craft beer beertoday.co.uk/2026/08/01/a... #beer #craftbeer #americanbeer #japanesefood @hoppylotte.bsky.social
My entire life I’ve never called it the FIFA World Cup. I’ve always called it the World Cup. Fans don’t give a shit about FIFA. If national teams showed up for a World Cup tournament not held by FIFA we would all watch it. World Cup is the brand. FIFA is nothing.
I've spent the morning doing background numbers for the beer festival seeing as it's getting (very) close and I need to be aware of possible adjustments to the beer (and other drinks) orders. It's currently looking like we're going to be between 10% and 15% up on last year's attendance.

I've only just realised it's August tomorrow. This beer festival is coming around far too quickly for my liking.
US Gov: We got a failed billionaire to cut costs by sacking all the intelligent workforce so that we can just use slopware AI to make said maps and to embarrass the USA in front of the entire international community. Going well, so much for Trump's "I hire the best people." line.
The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.
There's something theroputic about playing older games on this new laptop, and being able to use the highest graphics settings for once.
An update: Just received a text saying it was important I call them to discuss repayment of debt. Check the number they ask me to call, comes up as scam. I'm pretty sure this is the same people as yesterday, so I've deleted it and will ignore it. If it's geniune, they can send a letter.
Just had a phone call, they said they were from Manchester council, and asked me for first line of address as a security measure. Nope. All I have is their word that they're from the council. Not giving them any information.
We're now actually forecast for some drizzle/light rain today. I'll believe it when I see it :¬/

It's already 21c outside at 7:30am, and it's due to get up to 32c. No rain until at least Wednesday next week. This is all a bit too hot for me :¬/
