AWS Serverless Hero, etc

I just wanna triple down on saying: push to create environments in your work where people feel okay saying "I don't know" or "I'm not aware of [...]" So much time is wasted on egos and optics to know everything that could otherwise be used to identify gaps and next steps. Get out of that trap.

As someone smarter than me said, there are two takes on Elon Musk: one is that he's Henry Ford, and the other is that he's Henry Ford. It just depends on what you actually know about Henry Ford.

Yep. I think a lot about "pinch" the concept I first learned from mobile game design that by making something inconvenient, you can charge people to make that inconvenience go away. And once you learn to spot pinch in all aspects of society, you can't unsee it.

Nothing works. Airlines. Making movies. College. Retirement. Mass transit. Medicine. Housing. Everything is a scam, or on its way to becoming a scam. Nothing works and it’s all by design, because every hitch in the process is another way for the rich to make more money.

Some news: next year I'll be starting a job at Siemens Digital Industries in Erlangen, Germany! Looking forward to many interesting challenges to bring the serverless mindset to. And I'm going to be an EMEA Hero!

This is good, but just slightly misses the point — we don’t just have to kill the idea of the “one killer app” everyone uses for community online. It’s recognizing that we’ve *always* been using _lots_ of sites & apps. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/we-dont-need-a-new-twitter

as a junior engineer: "can't wait for the day I have prod access!" as a senior engineer: "take prod access away from me RIGHT NOW"

This is just to say I honored and commemorated the place and the deeds which you had sent me a message about Forgive me The danger was present in my time as it was in yours

very classic blockchain use case, in that it would be better served with a solution like "literally do nothing, it would be cheaper and more effective"

It's still weird to me that FedEx/UPS/USPS haven't come up with a system for using opaque identifiers for shipping. Two people should be able to exchange a package without revealing either address
