The way my life would immediately improve without customers saying “so I asked [AI du jour] and it says [completely made up thing]” would be huge. I had a customer yelling at me about a totally made up system file he was missing because an AI told him his system needed it to work.

Weird. It’s almost like something has CHANGED about the CLIMATE. We should come up with a name for this changing of climates. Something catchy and easy to understand. Something like… “Gary Syndrome”. I dunno just throwing out ideas we’re not even at first draft stage yet.

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.

That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

I could name a bunch of specific instances (e.g., my feelings on specific bands), but at a high level it’s: went from “some genres of music are not good” to “every single genre of music has great music and also terrible music, and no genre in and of itself is bad.”
