Elon: you know, the family, it has a baby so to speak Joe Rogan: Stewie Elon: yes that is it, indeed, but although he has the appearance of a baby he’s quite ribald Joe Rogan: …it just blows my mind. How he’s so little. And no one stops him is the thing. Elon: no, unshackled

This suggests that bullies seem finely attuned to matters of permission when it comes to bullying, and also tend to be massive whiny babies about getting even the mildest pushback. Just a couple potential bully facts to tuck away for later, in case they come in handy. But back to the 80s bullies.

The real "fairness in sport" issue around trans people is that all the structures for transitioning from "kick a ball in a park" to "would actually like to regularly play in an organised way", in almost every mainstream sport, are closed to trans people at the point of entry.

Things don't have purposes, as if the universe were a machine, where every part has a useful function. What's the function of a galaxy? I don't know if our life has a purpose and I don't see that it matters. What does matter is that we're a part.

I’d quibble with the overall proportion, but it is unambiguously true that working as an academic right now is more restrictive at any point since the red scare years, and it is *not* new. You’ve not been able to teach global warming in FL for years now without qualification.

Listen, if you’re not happy single, you won’t be happy in a relationship either, happiness comes from picking a new hobby and then buying all the things to start that hobby then finding the perfect little storage container for those things and then putting that storage container in the spare room

this is happening constantly here and it drives me nuts so let’s talk about the actual limits of LLMs in writing code in actual software shops bona fides: I’ve built and shipped coding agents to production to tens of thousands of monthly users. been building with LLMs three years seem some shit

Dude, I am literally using Claude to do applied math research. It does goddamn functional analysis well. And I’m telling you this as someone who just aced a functional analysis qualifying exam. Get a good AI model instead of whatever crap you’re using. (Gemini, perhaps? Or Copilot?)
