I’m an NSF panel reviewer that was scheduled to meet today. Just got notice that all NSF panels were canceled today. I reviewed some innovative proposals in support of students. Devastating if these scholars don’t get to do this work. For the love of science & students I hope this is just a delay.💔

Update: Unofficial word training directors are hearing is the hiring freeze won’t impact psychology interns or post docs.
Literal nightmare. It’s 2017 all over again. Federal hiring freezes could potentially impact the Match. I matched in 2017 and it ask worked out fine. Hope it does this time too. Stay frosty out there folks.
During my maternity “leave” last sem, I helped write 3 trainee fellowship applications to NIH & NSF. Probably ~50 hrs of my time, certainly hundreds of theirs. All have reviews occurring in ~month. In some cases it affects their ability to stay in my lab. This grant review shutdown is devastating.
