Nobody in the U.S. Senate is more responsible for the overturning of Roe v. Wade than Susan Collins. In November, we will defeat her.
We have always gone to the theatre to watch the powerful fail. The yellow freaks we call Minions refuse the tragedy. They open the curtain and show us the ugly underbelly we secretly crave. They ask for nothing but a master. They say, "Tell me who to work for." And we, God help us, we cheer.
LOL! I’m watching the first lecture in @timothysnyder.bsky.social’s class on Hitler, Stalin, and Us and he begins with a Spinal Tap reference. Bravo!
As an immunosuppressed person I’m so angry at everyone responsible for the CDC’s non-response to the Cyclospora outbreak. We have no guidelines, just news articles sharing long lists of foods to avoid because they’ve been associated with outbreaks in the past. It’d be funny if it wasn’t so stupid.
Of all the pro athletes, Nicole Heavirland seems like she’d be the most fun to hang out with.
After all the stories they’ve held in order to promote their books and protect their sources, I wonder which journalists at @nytimes.com and @washingtonpost.com actually know what’s up with McConnell and when they’ll condescend to inform us.
Last night, I dreamed that Jose Cuervo got acquired and renamed Hank Azaria
I wish the WSB people would get very into shorting them
As of 4PM EST, Workday stock was down $4.90. 😊
Congratulations to @dffeldon.bsky.social for winning Best Long Paper at ISLS 2026. As a mostly qualitative researcher, I love seeing very high quality quant research in LS spaces.
Simply banning kids from social media, rather than enforcing sensible age-gating on certain sites and encouraging safer places for kids to go (a la Club Penguin, Habbo Hotel, NeoPets, etc.), is such a disservice to kids and gives a false sense of security to parents. Don’t ban, make spaces.
Hi, we saw you from across the bar, and we'd like to give you health care.
Rep. AOC posts new photo on Instagram celebrating the Knicks alongside Mayor Zohran Mamdani
Finally watched the Hacks finale and it should win all the awards.
I’m rereading cryptonomicon and it’s much funnier than I remembered
UW-Madison has almost 52,000 students. It has a dairy farm, dairy sciences, forestry and top notch humanities. It also works closely with dairy and other farmers throughout the state to improve their output. Big publics do it all.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com The problem on college campuses is not just that students lack civility, Michal Leibowitz writes, but that “our college education does almost nothing to develop the sense that what we do in our day-to-day lives resonates with people beyond ourselves.”
OMG I thought I saw Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the mall the other day, but dismissed that as impossible. Now, I don’t know.
still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them
I think an uncomfortable truth we have to sit with that Biden's CDC had the same rhetoric. Obviously, what RFK Jr says here is horrible but pervelance of eugenics is a both party problem.
RFK Jr. showing his eugenicist beliefs. Here he is today at The City Club in Cleveland: "The average American who died from COVID had 3.8 chronic diseases. So what was really killing them? It was almost impossible for COVID to kill a healthy person. It was killing people who were already sick."
