TUMULUS by @exeunt.press arrived earlier this week. This is issue #6, Hammer a nail in the coffin, along with the bookmark game Blood Chapter. 🦇 My Exeunt Press section on this bookshelf is now full, eek! Shelf rearranging is in my future. Also thanks for the reminder to renew!

A hand holding a copy of TUMULUS and its accompanying Blood Chapter bookmark in front of a bookshelfA hand pushing a copy of TUMULUS into the final available slot on a bookshelf, next to other issues of TUMULUS and other Exeunt Press games and publicationsA hand holding a business card sized reminder slip that this issue is the last in my current subscription, so I'll need to renew to continue

Ahhh, I'm so excited for these bookmarks! Last semester I worked with students in the North Central College Design Agency class and they designed these for @oesterlelib (where I'm a librarian). Sky, Meredith, and Paulina were lovely to work with 💙 I've printed 1/3 of the designs, more to come later!

Four bookmarks, three with the fronts showing and one with the back showing. The fronts feature tarot-inspired genre designs for The Romantic, The Filmster, and The Haunted. Each scene shows the college mascot, Chippy the Cardinal, in a thematic illustration. The backs have a grid where book titles and ratings can be logged.

I think that if there's an overarching theme to my writing at Skeleton Code Machine, it's that I want people to try to make games. Little games, big games, weird games, whatever. I believe that act of creating art and games is inherently good. Hopefully today's post encourages people to try it.
