Taken on Sunday, this is #NotABird picture. However, it does have a bird in its name... Western tiger swallow tail. #photography #nature

A mostly yellow and black butterfly is perched on a purple flower head. Its wings are wide open, and we can see two small powder-blue spots toward the tail. The hind wings have a long black tail on either side... reminiscent of some swallow's tails.

A large and beautiful pale green silk moth with brown antennae and small eyespots on each wing; these spots are thought to confuse predators. This one had died and was lying on a trail in the woods.
