What's the RPG on your shelf that you'd love to run, but haven't had the opportunity? I loved City of Mist, and Legend in the Mist is 100% my speed, but I haven't had the time to get a group together. Too many other games!

DNGN CLUB is always pushing Daggerheart to its limits, this looks so cool!
Just a reminder that you can get your #vampiredaddy fix from a pro-union source this holiday season...
Magic Knight Rayearth you say? I'm in!
Rangers of a Broken World is now live! Inspired by Final Fantasy X, the Xenoblade Chronicles, and Magic Knight Rayearth, the vibe is post-apocalyptic fantasy without the grimdark. You are divinely chosen. Rebuild the land, fight the Horrors, and seed sparks of hope. www.backerkit.com/c/projects/e...
I'm waaay behind on my podcasts so I'm just getting to this, but this interview with C. Thi Nguyen is incredible, and very eloquently explains a link I noticed between metrics, games and gamification, but couldn't articulate nearly as well. Everyone with an interest in systems design should listen.

Making and playing TTRPGs and other games! Play smarter, not harder

Stoked to see both Daggerheart and Legend in the Mist both take home so many Ennies this weekend (as well as all the other winners)! They're great games that I hope this inspires more players to pick up and try!
I absolutely love this idea of housecons! Fantastic write-up on the logistics of setting it up as well.
Since stepping down as steward of Big Bad, I’ve focused on small events, what I call housecons. No flights, no hotel, communal meals, and scheduling that is either very loose (let’s play some games) or fully scheduled in advance (welcome to SeanCon, here’s your itinerary). My thoughts.
Jealous of everyone at GenCon this year! Let us know what your most surprising find is!
One thing that I feel doesn't get discussed enough: there are as many ways to make TTRPGs as there are ways to play and enjoy them. Whenever someone tries to tell you the "one true way" to build a TTRPG, please ignore them... they are wrong.
I am unbelievably touched that @dropout.tv titled my @dimension20.dropout.tv Adventuring Academy episode “A Duty of Care” I’m overwhelmed today, but I want to circle back in a while to share the links to everyone & everything I cited. More soon.

We have recorded a catch-up episode! @lindsayzana.bsky.social, @austinrusk.bsky.social, @mrstonebender.bsky.social, and Eric chat about the show, how it's been TEN YEARS SINCE IT STARTED!?, and what we're all up to now. It is in the feeds, but also here: sites.libsyn.com/398273/2026-...
We had a handful of books, a table full of mates, and enough confidence to get half t' rules wrong all evenin'. Somehow we still managed to have a grand time. There's nowt wrong with askin' for help, but roleplayin' games have always rewarded folk who are willin' to muddle through together.
I see ads for D&D/DM "coaching", is that something people actually sign up for? I feel like there's so much free material out there, and most new DMs are high school/college age or otherwise don't have the cash on hand, but maybe there's a market of people who best learn person-to-person?

"Yes And" alongside the Rule of Cool are common bits of advice, but is there a point they start to detract from the fun of the game? See my thoughts in our new video!

This is how I got 2 Daggerheart campaigns started! A well made one shot starting adventure is a huge boon to any game.
#TTRPGTHOUGHTS 1 One-shots as a back-door pilot film? American TV used to have “Pilot season” where the various production companies produced pilots episodes for proposed TV series. Some of these were broadcast as stand alones to gauge public reaction. Some were “picked up” & made into series. 1
Have you ever encountered a world in a TTRPG or video game that's massive but ... there's not a lot in there? Try making your game much smaller, but deeper instead for a richer experience!

We'd love to hear how someone used Where'd You Get That? or our Blades in the Dark items and rituals in particular!
This is your regular reminder to tell TTRPG creators about how it goes when you run your stuff. Comments on Itch about my adventures make my day every single time.
It's been a while, but we're finally back with some new videos! Hopefully things have calmed down enough I can start to get them out semi-regularly again!

This is honestly brilliant. I'm a little upset I didn't think of it first
over text limit sry. and yeah, the added pressure of running low on arrows during a long excursion or deep in a dungeon adds to the tension in a way that's fun!
Played my first session of Stonetop last night and man, the world building on this is intense! It's like they reinvented the bestiary from first principles, not just a translation of creatures we all know. I'm having a blast with my Would-Be Hero!
With only the mildest of spoilers for Widow's Bay Ep 2, the game design is phenomenal. "RUN" is truly inspired.

Ok, forking response in a different direction for a different, if equally hand-waving point. Subverting the baseline is entirely valid as an approach, but not if you stop with the cool idea and just expect the GM to make it interesting for you. That’s crap.
Invariably if you make a TTRPG setting about being a thing, someone will ask “oh can I be literally anything else” Dnd players who want to role play tavern owners, aberrant players who want to play baselines, eclipse phase players who want to play Jovians
