To a hammer everything looks like a nail etc, but I do think that gender is the first and primary hierarchical division of human beings, and that much of the passion of the transphobic project comes from transphobes (correctly) assessing trans people’s threat to all other hierarchies.

I’d someday like to go more into how even as a het queer person I find this kind of messaging deeply threatening. There is no “straightness” except in contrast to queerness, and that contrast is most expressed as the violent alienation of queer people from popular definitions of humanity.

One of the things grating on me at the moment is the lack of solidarity in my industry (software dev). Nobody seems willing to stand up and say "no, fuck you, I have creative control, I have agency, this is expressive human work and if you try and take it in the name of efficiency, you are my enemy"

the truth of the matter is, if i find out your game uses AI in its production, i will not speak it's name to my audience. i won't sing it's praises to my friends. i will not talk about it unless i'm warning somebody away from it. and i'm not alone in these efforts!
sorry to the indie team with the sob story but your game either uses AI or it doesn't use AI and that decides whether or not i, and a lot of other people, buy and cover it. you opted out of sales when you signed up for claude, my man.

tctc@toastcrust.bsky.social · 2mo agoeven if LLM actually made gamedev more efficient, which I see no reason to believe it has or will, that won't reduce crunch, because the business people will just push harder until you're crunching again. When a tool increases worker productivity, that doesn't translate into better work hours.

I am sick to my back teeth of Ai posters gupping up my TL from every local biz. I just won’t use your company. Even every YouTube video rn had this but always a white text follow by yellow yakuza style font. Whose biz is this? Idk. You don’t stand out.
These AI companies are trying SO HARD to get you to accept it. "Look! We got these popular artists to use it and endorse it! You like these artists, don't you? Don't you want to support your favorite artists?" THEY ARE LOSING MONEY AND NEED YOU TO BUY IN. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
I've been scanning the contents of the sketchbooks I'm working on over on my sketchbook account. I've settled into a 660 page A5 book & have been working my way through it. I draw studies in the front and characters in the back - working my way through the Morpho Simplified forms book when studying!
Confining the study half of this sketchbook to this thread. 8 more pages from the beginning of the book.
The strategy used for the current A5 sketchbook in progress to stave off fear of the blank page was to draw studies for improvement in the front of the book while drawing character artwork in the back. These are the first 8 pages of sketches in this book. This strategy fills out the book fast!
