Shout out to the Blacksky constructionists who are unmoved by the deconstructionist purists. The former are building in the real world and take on the constraints that come with that, while the latter aim criticisms free of these constraints. Hard to respect how these deconstructionists operate.

Oh this book is STUNNING (and I’m omitting some of the best art to avoid spoilers). It’s like the memory of an old anime, where what you remember is even more vivid and kinetic than what was actually on screen. I want more of this sooo bad and I’m so glad I got the paper issue. Just beautiful.

I'm seeing several posts regarding luck versus skill. I do believe a lot of luck plays a part in publishing. What I would add to this equation is: the system. The thing is, you can have skill and luck can happen, but, to use a gambling metaphor, if you aren't allowed in a casino, you can't bet.
