No one could honestly spend years of their life ensconced in academia and emerge with scathing critiques of Black people and ONLY Black people being unfairly advanced or promoted. To construct such a narrative requires extreme levels of intellectual dishonesty, internalized anti blackness or both.

In a recent email, the Scholars in Cinema and Media Studies in Solidarity with Palestine again call for a boycott of SCMS. I worry that they won't have the momentum that they had last year and I also would love to attend SCMS this year (I miss you folks!). But, I can't justify breaking a boycott.
