People think these vehicles are safe, but really we just don’t have enough reworks usage at this point to know how much safer or not they truly are. It’s like the comment about computers in the real world. They are good at things we find hard, but bad at things we find easy.

This is going to be Hopkins St. in a couple years in Berkeley. It’s been an 8 year battle, hopefully by year 10 they’ll actually be built, and then nearly everyone will agree with this statement below.
Tom Flood@tomflood.bsky.social · 5d agoAll the hysteria and rhetoric that consumed a community around these bike lanes ended and now no one talks about them and people use them (including those with mobility devices) all the time for work, school, play and everything in between. Change is hard for some people but we all adapt.
