It’s a feature of cultures like the US & UK where ppl are taught to see their country as number 1 even if they don’t realise it. It’s why colonial history should be compulsory in schools to liberate minds.
One of the weirder things about the UK is that it still has a monarch with actual powers* & how when ‘adults’ think about a replacement president they think that that person wld be worst!** So Lady Di’s brother said Chuck said, Di wld be forgotten. Now further evidence is coming out! Ouch!

Someone just sent me a link to an AI thing for converting PDFs Umm, NO! You don't ever trust AI. Not only will it be WRONG in a variety of stupid and obvious ways but it will STEAL everything you have done. I blocked the user who had one follower and was following no-one. Ugh!

Got a lovely birthday card from my sister. There is something of an "in joke" here that sort of shouldn't need explaining and wouldn't really help much if I did. Suffice to say this is the best birthday card I have ever had that didn't have money in it. 😊😊😊

One of its main products was the self-help "cook book" giving specific steps for success. Some was obvious: "work on ideas regularly". I rarely met people the books helped to enrich. Except a handful of some books' writers.

In the meantime it’ll be time out, nature and self care. Sometimes we need to stop and re-evaluate and for me, now is that time.
Anyone who opposes assisted dying needs to read this thread. It is traumatic. Having read it, please share with the rest of us your reasoned objections to assisting people in such dire circumstances, with no prospect of recovery or effective alleviation of their symptoms, to die.

We need to be honest about what death often looks like & that there is often *no* palliative care that can make someone like my mum's death any easier. TW: This thread is a difficult read.
Every single POS MP who voted against this bill, and everyone else who argued against it, should be forced to read this thread and think carefully about what they have done. It's only because I am not evil that I don't wish them to endure the experience. 😡

Just saw the end of a Marvel film where the president turned kinda orange and ripped up a load of cherry trees and ended up in prison and I am hoping that accurate predictions come in threes.
So true. Although please try to avoid the obvious clichés. Couldn't put it down and a real page turner, five stars come across like you're the author's mum. I'd sooner get three stars and a "too much [sex/violence/drugs/stupidity]." That way, readers who want that will know this is for them.

Bonus brownie points if it was from an indie author, though. Reviews don't have to be full blogs; just a little, "It was alright," will do. But every review is helpful in this day and age.

How many people have £500k to buy influence? A game only the super-rich, big corporations/unions can play. Can't end political corruption without banning all political donations.
