Burnham says he will open inquiry into Epstein in the UK. So, bets on how long he will last if he looks likely to uncover anything? And how will the elites remove him? Defenestration? Random attack by passer-by who dies in custody? Or just character assassination?

And it's not just relevant to Sidmouth – the rep theatre welcomed so many household names from TV classics. It's a wonderful trip down memory lane. Word of caution: you'll become distracted by those names and have to google them!

#BookSky #Devon #DevonUK #Sidmouth #RepertoryTheatre #Theatre #ManorPavilion This book nearly took my sanity. 😂 (slight exageration) 500 pages 320 photographs the history of repertory theatre at Sidmouth Manor Pavilion Theatre. bluepoppypublishing.co.uk/product/come...

Front cover of Comedy Tomorrow, Tragedy Tonight: The Remarkable Story of Repertory Theatre at the Manor Pavilion, Sidmouth by Paul Smith of Theatre Plays UK. Features the title in lightbulb signage on a background of purple brickwork.

Okay, so the fascist embezzler is going to win by a country mile but it's not all bad news. Of course I would have loved to see him binned and the Count elected, but he still faces censure for dodgy financial dealings and will be kicked out anyway.

Very disappointing from the new Prime Minister, very much sounding like the previous PM. These are among the world’s most vulnerable and desparate people. They need safe routes and humanity from responsible politicians, not grandstanding. This isn’t doing politics differently.

Burnham pledges to be "relentless" in curbing small boat crossings

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

"I think the problem for Andy Burnham, and where I plan to step up, is that his solutions aren't going to fix things. For instance If we brought in rent controls, we could save the average UK household up to £2,400 a year and the government £2 billion a year." Zack Polanski on BBC Newsnight.

"You can't deny the seriousness of the threat that's facing us. Europe is heating up twice as fast as the rest of the world. The Cairngorms are on fire and there are fires in Sussex and in Greater Manchester." Rachel Millward, Green Party co-Deputy Leader, on LBC's Cross Question.

It is already hard enough to apply and get benefits. My daughter-in-law suffers from a chronic physical condition which leaves her in constant pain, plus ADHD which makes filling in the forms incredibly hard. Denied PIP unfairly she was too late with her appeal TWICE. Still not got it.

One thing you can absolutely guarantee in life. When Labour ministers talk about difficult choices, it's never the rich and powerful that will be taking a hit.

Andy Burnham to make it harder for people to claim benefits as he vows to get serious about cutting welfare bill

I met Bill Oddie once. He was unbelievably rude to me and damn near made me cry. There was absolutely no need and I did nothing to deserve it. From what I heard, after that, I was by no means the only one. I gather a lot of people refused to work with him in the business.

Asking creative people to volunteer is the forgotten but much older flip side of the AI coin of making it almost impossible to earn money from art. If a thing is worth doing it is worth paying someone a living wage to do it. Unless we get UBI

Burnham's re-appointment of Mahmood, for me, makes him even worse than Starmer. He's seen who she is, seen how unpopular her polices are and kept her anyway. It was all I needed to know to decide Burnham has to go. #BurnhamOut

Terrorising communities. Splitting up families. These are political choices that Burnham is backing by reappointing Shabana Mahmood in the Home Office. These are choices the Green Party will always fight.
