Speaking of 'not using AI', here are a couple of sketches done by the super talented @acapeluso.bsky.social working on the character of Jethro from @otooleyauthor.bsky.social 's WIP "The Chosen One" This is one of seven characters who make up the main adventuring party; the only male. 😉

Writer, publisher, woke lefty, he/him, founder of Blue Poppy Publishing, in North Devon. #NoAI - I always block AI users if I see them.

I think the average Somalian works ten times harder than Rupert Lowe. I'd sooner have a random Somalian as my MP than any Restore or Reform politician.
I just can’t believe we’re seeing this sort of stuff from a sitting MP Just want to say to British Somalis that you are loved and I’m so, sorry this is happening.
Burnham says he will open inquiry into Epstein in the UK. So, bets on how long he will last if he looks likely to uncover anything? And how will the elites remove him? Defenestration? Random attack by passer-by who dies in custody? Or just character assassination?
As a white cis man I know how true this is! 🤣 We can be relied upon to provide an opinion based "fact" on anything with absolute confidence that we are correct.
How would I get by without AI? If I need a factually-dubious opinion expressed in a cliched manner with unearned confidence, I’ll just talk to a straight white cis man. I can get by on small-batch, locally-sourced, artisanal mansplaining, the way we always used to.
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness
And it's not just relevant to Sidmouth – the rep theatre welcomed so many household names from TV classics. It's a wonderful trip down memory lane. Word of caution: you'll become distracted by those names and have to google them!
#BookSky #Devon #DevonUK #Sidmouth #RepertoryTheatre #Theatre #ManorPavilion This book nearly took my sanity. 😂 (slight exageration) 500 pages 320 photographs the history of repertory theatre at Sidmouth Manor Pavilion Theatre. bluepoppypublishing.co.uk/product/come...
Okay, so the fascist embezzler is going to win by a country mile but it's not all bad news. Of course I would have loved to see him binned and the Count elected, but he still faces censure for dodgy financial dealings and will be kicked out anyway.

Very disappointing from the new Prime Minister, very much sounding like the previous PM. These are among the world’s most vulnerable and desparate people. They need safe routes and humanity from responsible politicians, not grandstanding. This isn’t doing politics differently.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
I assumed I knew this but apparently not. I must be conflating it with another platform. Where's the bit where you can see how many interactions your posts have got? Or is there one?
There are posts going around to share your most liked work on Bsky - how do you find out what that is? I used to have a "my bangers" feed but it seems to have vanished. What's the new way to see your own top posts?
This book just arrived A Walk Around Bideford in the Victorian/Edwardian Era Available from the author and from Walter Henry's in Bideford or from Blue Poppy Publishing website.
"I think the problem for Andy Burnham, and where I plan to step up, is that his solutions aren't going to fix things. For instance If we brought in rent controls, we could save the average UK household up to £2,400 a year and the government £2 billion a year." Zack Polanski on BBC Newsnight.
"You can't deny the seriousness of the threat that's facing us. Europe is heating up twice as fast as the rest of the world. The Cairngorms are on fire and there are fires in Sussex and in Greater Manchester." Rachel Millward, Green Party co-Deputy Leader, on LBC's Cross Question.
Absolutely ridiculous to close NDDH maternity. Not enough doctors? GET SOME THEN! It is fully two hours drive on a good day to get to Exeter! IF there is no traffic and IF you can drive! @ianroome.bsky.social keep up the good work @andyburnham.bsky.social you are useless
It is already hard enough to apply and get benefits. My daughter-in-law suffers from a chronic physical condition which leaves her in constant pain, plus ADHD which makes filling in the forms incredibly hard. Denied PIP unfairly she was too late with her appeal TWICE. Still not got it.
One thing you can absolutely guarantee in life. When Labour ministers talk about difficult choices, it's never the rich and powerful that will be taking a hit.
The worst thing about people creeping into my conga line unannounced is they have to go behind my back to do it.
I met Bill Oddie once. He was unbelievably rude to me and damn near made me cry. There was absolutely no need and I did nothing to deserve it. From what I heard, after that, I was by no means the only one. I gather a lot of people refused to work with him in the business.
Asking creative people to volunteer is the forgotten but much older flip side of the AI coin of making it almost impossible to earn money from art. If a thing is worth doing it is worth paying someone a living wage to do it. Unless we get UBI
I need a #snail expert. Ideally #Devon based but anone who can help me with a few reasons why snails are important, how we can care for them, and why. #Environment #Nature e.g. not just garden pest but food for birds etc. + QI facts? To add to the back of a children's picture book.
The Gen-X Prime Minister smiles up at his Smiths LP, takes another sip of water from the hose and toasts the Secretary of State for Transphobia. Life is good.
Just seen that Burnham is an avid Morrissey fan and has put up a gold disc of The Smiths’ “The Queen is Dead” in No.10 North the guy who has a whole section on “racial comments” on Wikipedia Yeah this dude doesn’t care about racism in the slightest.
Burnham's re-appointment of Mahmood, for me, makes him even worse than Starmer. He's seen who she is, seen how unpopular her polices are and kept her anyway. It was all I needed to know to decide Burnham has to go. #BurnhamOut
Terrorising communities. Splitting up families. These are political choices that Burnham is backing by reappointing Shabana Mahmood in the Home Office. These are choices the Green Party will always fight.
As someone who until recently lived in Oxford, which is also twinned with Ramallah, bring on the twinning. Twinning is also a very old way of enacting a politics of internationalist solidarity.
Its only outrageous if you think the Palestinian people aren't people.
Average FTSE 100 CEO pay up 8.6% last year to over £5,000,000. While most people's salaries are struggling to to keep up with inflation. This is obscene. observer.co.uk/news/busines...
