Hoping this new steam capsule does a better job explaining the game at a glance. I'm not really in a major genera so the normal symbols are a bit harder for me. When you see this what does it make you think?

A title, Nyra and the Garden of Moros in white flowing text and an image of a girl riding a wolf silhouetted in the foreground with a mysterious giant looming over her in the background.

This was a fascinating exercise: find out what went wrong with creativity in the games industry. The conclusion: there are too many cowards controlling too many critical levers, and until we figure out how to put people -taste, creativity, and craft- back at the top, we're going to be stuck.

The games industry is stifled by a culture of fear, concludes a workgroup hosted by Rami Ismail. https://bit.ly/4vPbIzv

Microsoft engineered this so that it looked the least bad optically while at the same time still committing a slaughter, all so that Satya Nadella can still dick around with more useless AI horseshit. Fuck him and fuck Microsoft.

Do you know what is irresponsible? Thinking some child porn is acceptable... as long as it doesn't limit the reach of your far right ideologies Not sure why i thought of that just now... because Tim totally didn't say that when he said that. He just said that.. but he didn't. So stop saying he did

The CEO of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, has said that Valve's decision to have disclosure labels for projects on Steam that make use of AI is "really irresponsible". www.gamesindustry.biz/epics-sweene...

"Game dev is one of those jobs you only do when you really want to. It's not going to make your parents proud, you're unlikely to get rich in an industry that lays off people for making superhits, and its a demanding & confrontative job. Why would you let a machine do the thing you're here to do?"

I spent the last few months talking to over 30 game developers about generative AI. It began as a sort of interview survey but became a pretty comprehensive collection of arguments against the technology altogether. www.gamesradar.com/games/why-so...

as predicted! There will be literally no point in anyone installing UE6 I would say "unless they roll back the AI and Verse shit", but that's the whole thing. We're only 8 versions into UE5, UE4 got to 27. UE6 is illegitimate, it's not anything *but* a product of ai psychosis

In like an hour and a half the State Of Unreal thing is going to happen. It will have some cool stuff and some dogshit stuff that totally dwarfs the cool stuff. Someone will say really stupid shit about AI, the "metaverse", UEFN, plans to make the world worse will be announced... avert your eyes tbh
