As long as Russia covets Ukraine's land (and people), the Russians will be back for another bite - if at all possible. Doesn't matter if Ukraine gives up the Donbas, with tRump being who he is. Remember also that Russia has annexed Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, and included them in their constitution.
I heard someone say it was “extreme” to demand the names of the ICE agents who murdered Alex Pretti. No. Demanding government disclosure of the names of government agents when they kill Americans is moderate. Wanting to read the names off the plaque at a mass grave would be, perhaps, extreme.
This is a very good thread on the current "negotiations" and I use that term lightly. It's still basically give Russia everything it wants, but let's leave Ukraine security undefined.

Chuck Schumer's starting position should be as maximalist as possible -- complete abolition of ICE, resignations of Bovino, Homan, Noem and Miller, unmasking of all agents, and prosecution by state authorities of the murderers. Don't start with what looks like a compromise half-measure.
Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social · 7mo agoMajority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.” Once again it looks like Schumer is about to choke after getting a massive opportunity. So pathetic and weak.

I’m sorry, the @nytimes.com’s own video team shows incontrovertibly that the federal agents beat, tortured, and massacred a civilian who posed no threat to them on the street and all we get is a mealy mouthed passive voice headline about “flawed and fatal decisions?”
They aren’t backing down. They’re just threatening people in other cities. Still illegal. Still unconstitutional. Even if they haven’t yet backed it up by shooting someone in the face.
