Rhetoricallly wondering if all the National Guard troops in DC will be helping clean up the widespread damage from the storm, or if they’ll just continue aid and abet federal agents and the occupation of our city… #FreeDC

Trees down in our neighborhood this morning from last night’s storm. I unequivocally want the National Guard out of DC, but as long as they’re here, will they get orders to help clean up from the storm, or will they continue to patrol with armed federal agents on foot and in unmarked vehicles?

We spoke with three Georgia National Guard soldiers patrolling around Wheatley Education Campus during this morning’s arrival to see if they truly understand why they’re here. Spoiler alert: They don’t. They’re being punked right alongside us. #FreeDC www.instagram.com/reel/DcjtFkl...

This morning, @bogrosemary.bsky.social back on her #GoodTrouble bullshit, working on convincing the National Guard to go away. #FreeDC

Picture of two women standing at the entrance to an alley, talking to uniformed military members who are standing around and making sure that the guy walking his dog down the alley wasn't a sleeper cell for some terrorist organization or, even worse—an American with Thoughts.

This morning the Georgia National Guard chose to drive down the street in front of Wheatley in one of their unmarked vans. We ensured they know how the community feels about the militarized occupation of DC. #FreeDC

It’s the first week of school in DC and armed National Guard soldiers are teaming up with federal police to patrol residential neighborhoods, including outside elementary schools. National Guard out of DC communities NOW.

Happy first day of school to my kiddo and thousands more here in occupied DC, right? This is just a little over 30mins ago in front of Wheatley Education Campus, PK3-8th, where we’ve been pushing back against the NG and federal agents (FBI today) staging at and patrolling around our school. #FreeDC

There are so many places these soldiers are needed for help with disasters around the country—Gary, Indiana, for example— and instead they’re being put up in luxury hotels and apartments in DC at a cost of 3 million dollars a day, a symbol of the president’s insecurity. www.npr.org/2026/08/24/n...

There is no excuse for normalizing the military occupation of DC. NONE. NEVER. Not even for your both sides, long read on the nearly year-long, no clear end in sight, authoritarian infestation of our theoretically democratic federal colony. GTFOH with "what they're not is masked ICE agents." #FreeDC

The National Guard is showing up in more neighborhoods; I saw them posted up at Starburst Plaza and in LeDroit Park. But they mostly stand around, hand out water, pose for pictures, and even do some neighborhood cleaning. What they're not is masked ICE agents.

Being a super voter has its perks, but getting messages from industry lobbyists masking as folks who care at all about District residents isn’t one of them. Don’t fall for their spin on the Bottle Bill.

Got a text that reads: D.C. is standing on a fiscal cliff and our small businesses and families can't afford MORE
COSTS. ACT NOW if you agree: info1.co/r/016sVV

First guess was that this was about the Bottle Bill. While the linked petition wants you to believe it’s from the “Alliance for an Affordable DC”, it’s actually from an association that could not care any less about actual people in the District.

Way down in the tiny print they’re thankfully forced to include: “Created by the Alliance for an Affordable D.C. Paid for by the American Beverage Association. By submitting this form, I expressly authorize the Alliance to call me and/or send me information via email, text message, and/or other medium at the addresses and phone number l've provided. If the phone number I provided is a mobile phone number, I expressly authorize the Coalition to call my mobile number, using autodialers and/or robocalls, and/or send text messages, including automated (autodialed) text messages. By submitting this form, I also verify that I am above the age of 13.”

You're damn right something went wrong, but it wasn't me deleting my account. #DoorDash is complicit in the occupation of DC—my and my neighbors' autonomy and safety aren't a bargaining chip for their profits. #DeleteDoorDash #FreeDC

Screenshot of the error message that pops up when I attempt to login to my deleted DoorDash account. The only thing that went wrong is DoorDash's cooperation with DC's occupation.

For the last year and a half, DoorDash has been silent as delivery drivers in DC have been hunted in the streets and even killed by ICE and other federal police. Now, the company has come out in support of #HR9720 — the blatant attack on DC Home Rule — just so it can earn more money.

Doordash has been sildent on the arrests and deaths of delivery drivers in DC — and just came out in support of HR 9720, a blatant attack on DC's Home Rule
