Our watch of The Muppet Movie has turned into a character study of Kermit, who, as @reznorected.bsky.social pointed out, “was Jim Henson as a Muppet.” That goes a long way towards explaining why everyone speaks so reverently and affectionately of Mr. Henson to this day, 36y after his death. #Film

Kermit is such a beautiful soul. He feels for Fozzie, dying onstage, and can't stand to see a crowd upset. He's a born entertainer, I think, is the point. But he's not needy or ego-driven. He's like the platonic ideal of an entertainer: someone whose only want is to entertain & delight. #FilmSky 📽️

Kermit can't handle the crowd turning on Fozzie, and watching Fozzie die up there. If Kermit can, he's gonna give them a show.

I had forgotten that a running joke in The Muppet Movie is that frog legs are, like, the hottest cuisine in the world. Everyone is eating frog legs at every meal. They're prepared 3 different ways for these plates & Kermit feels some type of way about it 😆 I can't be the only one who ❤️s this #movie

Frog legs au gratin and two other ways I didn't bother to remember. Ha! His 'facial expressions' are incredible. He's so expressive. And he's usually not that demonstrative, either. He's somehow kind of an understated puppet.

I posit there has never been (and will never be) a better G-rated #film than The Muppet Movie. But it's been a while since I've seen it, so I'm going to rewatch it and confirm my lifelong suspicion: that that movie is the apex of General Audience filmmaking. This will be a whole 🧵 obv #FilmSky 📽️

Yeah, Flow is a must watch movie. Some things here and there are not as polished compared to huge animation studios but it's still a beautiful movie and you can sense the passion that was put into it. Being able to tell a captivating story without saying a single word is quite an achievement!
