In trying times it’s good to see City ignore the noise and focus on the only stat that matters: billable hours

I like dogs. Proud Greener. I post soccer stats and occasionally write for Sounder at Heart and Backheeled.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve taken some shots at the Austin fanbase over the years, but this absolutely deserves our respect.
National soccer media needs to do a better job covering what’s going on in Austin. Entire fan section walks out mid match and it’s absolute crickets out-there. If you’re covering the match and focusing on Nashville’s win or Austin’s loss you are not doing your job.
The haters won’t want to hear this but Paul Arriola and Hassani Dotson are looking like pretty good players now that they’re healthy.
One or more human beings are responsible for the code they wrote, and those are the people who should be held accountable. These programs are not acting “on their own”
(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...
Israel is committing genocide.
“MLS is under rated and under priced” has been a winning thesis for clubs outside the absolute top echelon of the UCL for a couple years now. Anyone with 3 brain cells and the standing to make objective decisions not influenced by QSMNT backlash is going to come to the same conclusion.
Mauricio Pochettino legitimately being the most pro MLS USMNT coach in the MLS era is something I think I fully understand and yet still wows me
Crowd control grenades are really brutal, nasty things. They are pushed as less lethal, but they regularly take limbs, eyes, digits. When you see them do it up close you realize “less lethal” means “maiming machine”. I have permanent hearing damage in one ear from one and I was lucky.
The French police are so militarized they blew up a 15-yr-old’s hand and took the eye of another one. Why are grenades being used to quell student protestors who are unarmed? Now the labour unions are stepping in to protect the students
The US government's statements about the Iran War starting with saying they had defeated Iran a dozen of times to then saying hey if they nuke American cities that is actually okay is the kind of shit that only speaks to a base that has willingly locked themselves in a room with a charcoal grill.
Seattle vs. Philadelphia is an MLS Cup Final I could have believed happening if you told me at the beginning of the year but NOT in the way we're getting there
Yehonatan Ovadia – a Hasidic Jew and Israeli citizen who has lived in the U.S. on a visa since 2022 – is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (a notorious federal prison) and facing deportation … for his criticism of Israel on religious grounds.
A Hasidic Jew Protested Against an Israeli Flag. He May Be Deported.
Yehonatan Ovadia, who opposed the mounting of the flag in a small New York town, belongs to a Hasidic branch that is anti-Zionist. He is now in ICE custody.

Hey Washington, pay attention, this deeply affects you too.
The West Coast oil pipeline has been designated a project of national interest, side-stepping environmental safeguards that have been in place for decades and charting a course that could irrevocably alter the Salish Sea. thetyee.ca/News/2026/10...

How can we get Nathan Fielder into a rental home with Man City execs for the next 34 days
Reynas: You have to play our son. He’s the best. Berhalter: Buddy I don’t even play MY son and he’s way better:
Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.
The "care" react on Facebook is maybe the longest-lasting piece of American covid infrastructure
now here's an alarmingly common sentiment among engineering students
Am I missing something here? In what universe would an engineering student ever study history?! Do many history students study engineering?! I *enjoyed* history at school, and I was *good* at it. But no way would I ever have studied it at university.
Transing your kids? In this economy?! I can barely afford to trans MYSELF!
Michael Deacon trying to ensure the Danny Dyer Advice Column isn't the worst thing on his CV
Now, imagine the response to a column asking why a Premier League team has a Jewish supporters group.
It’s really telling to me that for as much as EU officials are talking about the threat of becoming reliant on US LLM’s basically no one is proposing to fund open source model development like China has. That is despite a push for open source in parts of the EU on in other areas.
Sounds familiar. When they find out they can't deport that many people, do they have a 'solution'?
I know people know that the AfD is extremist but idk how widely known it is that a key party platform is the constitutional redefinition of German citizenship and then the deportation of millions to tens of millions of non-ethnic former citizens

It’s just a shame all these bright young talents are choosing to take a raise in order to play at a lower level in a backwards, monarchical, petro-state with rabid anti-queer discrimination. They should have stayed and continued to test themselves in a real league.
