Just a weird slime still learning how to exist. 29, any pronouns. I tinker with programming, modeling, music and art. Streaming eventually? Game dev occasionally? NSFW constantly. Minors and bigots DNI. Trans rights

Someone just explained the wastefulness of AI that makes it a fundamentally non-viable product in such a clear and eloquent way that I'm starting to understand why so many people don't seem to get it. The usual arguments miss the core point. AI is a pointlessly unnecessary middleman.

I've been told by at least 1 complete stranger that I should "let it go already" regarding my hair. Jokes on them, I haven't been holding onto it for years. What I still have? That's the stubborn shit that held it's ground without any help form me whatsoever. Survival of the fittest up there.

Sometimes it's genuinely depressing, being exposed to the breadth of human stupidity... I feel like if I ran some of these people through the "Imagine a guy named Bob" exercise, they'd try to press charges... This isn't even a crisis of whimsy, this is complete inability to differentiate fiction.

IMHO Sony had one wild breakout success with the PS2 and decided the best course of action thereafter was to start an annual tradition of repeatedly dropping a sledgehammer on their own face. And because they're technically still making money doing so, the shareholders haven't stopped them.

I'll tell trans folks the same thing I told furries a couple weeks ago. Take this advice from an ex-reporter of 15 years. If a journalist DMs you, SHUT THE FUCK UP. If a journalist DMs you, SHUT THE FUCK UP. If a journalist DMs you, SHUT THE FUCK UP. If a journalist DMs you, SHUT THE FUCK UP.

the psycho terf groups are starting to have their eyes drift towards diy hrt resources again - so it's a good time to remember that under no circumstances in no world whatsoever for the rest of time should you talk to journalists, especially regarding anything related to diy hormones.

This seemed obvious in retrospect but the trade center towers were FULL of asbestos. And a projectile plane makes a shockingly good aerosolizer. No shit the dust that covered the city for MONTHS had literal TONS of asbestos in it. Experts were desperately calling for mask mandates and closures.

Suddenly all those "people unsure if Mamdani should attend 9/11 ceremony" articles comes into focus. It's a blatant racist attack to distract from the fact that they knowingly covered up health hazards because money wasn't flowing.

Saw an opinion video on the new OOT art direction. The opinion: - It's over detailed on purpose because it's mimicking a specific style of art. That style was the predecessor to "fairly tale aesthetic" art. - The characters are made to resemble wooden puppets and porcelain dolls. I see it.

And frankly, I am suspicious that this softening of discourse is happening the way it is. All of a sudden a bunch of “moderate” takes are popping up, coaxing people who use it “casually” to speak up. It’s like they realized full-throated AI support wasn’t working.

Refusing to use AI isn’t a recalcitrant position. It’s the moral one. There is too much wrong with how this is happening to just “if you can’t beat em join em” this. It’s a lack of consent machine. An environmental destruction machine. An emotional and cognitive numbing machine.

this is why education is so important dude, there's literally papers detailing archaic pre-windows 98 computers with extremely simple programming could respond to basic text inputs using a list of canned responses, and that was enough to make multiple users actually think the computer was alive

"people are anthropomorphizing LLMs because they are so astonishingly good at processing human thought and language" people will anthropomorphize a chair if you put the stitches in the right place.

chair with a "face"

Staring at someone being atrociously bad at flying in my favorite space game: For the love of god learn to read the UI and don't just try to fly forward. There's no god damn drag in space. You're just gonna slingshot yourself into the sun AGAIN... THOSE LINES MEAN SOMETHING. LEARN GOD DAMMIT. xD

It's hilarious to me how many time travle theories coexist due to the simple fact that there's many ways to subvert a paradox. Timelines, flexible causality, predetermination, all are consequence of how you answer that single question.

PF2E is hilarious, because if you don't know VERY aspect of the system, you'll blunder your way through trying to make something optimal, only to find out there was a far better option available far sooner and with far less cost. This is especially a thing with alchemy based builds.

More PF2E thinking. Alchemists are "weaker" than spell-casters for a few reasons. 1: Regenerative resources. 2: Shareable resources. 3: No magic reliance. 4: Alchemy has prepared AND spontaneous benefits. 5: Resources upgrade with level rather than being outmoded. 6: Far easier to stockpile power.

Fun fact: "Schrodinger's cat" Wasn't meant to be an explanation of how quantum physics works. It was intended as a refutation of quantum mechanics in general. Schrodinger considered the idea of superposition to be ridiculous, and "Schrodinger's cat" was an exaggeration meant to illustrate that.

I want a version of that one nick fury clip. "I recognize that you're entitled to your opinion. But given that it's a stupid-ass opinion, I'm entitled to ignore it." The internet needs a clip like that. Unless it's made with AI, in which case I'm entitled to ignore it.

Saw a good art. Brain is now in a "Boop completely forgoes her usual duplicity and turns her collection into an entire hedonistic landscape" mood. >w> Forget corrupting terrain into a fantastical wonderland. If she makes her playthings big enough, they'll make the fantastical landscape anyway. >w>

You know who we need most when companies overreach and desperately need reminding of their place? People who are already spending their cash on said company. I would love to start a Cancel Your Nitro Membership and Pass Along the Sentiment train. Just cancelled mine. Join me ✨ 🌹
