She gingerly took them, looking at the label. “My dad took those every day. I kept his last bottle because I thought they may have something to do with his death. If I ever decided to look into it, I wanted to have it on hand,” I explained as she stopped with her finger over the name. Her eyes burned blue before she looked at me. “You didn’t look these up or read the label?” she asked, and I shook my head. That is what I felt while under the water, surrounded by a bubble of air I made with my oxykinesis. It was the only place 1 telt sate anymore. Something was taken from me, and no matter how hard I thought about it, my brain wouldn't tell me. The violet energy around the bubble of air flickered, warning me that my power was nearly depleted. Whatever the Council did, it diminished them until I could barely think straight. Half of me wasn't sure it was the Council at all, but the other half refused to put the blame anywhere else. I stood and slowly let the air out of the bubble, shrinking it until it was only over my head before pushing off the bottom of the pool. When I broke the surface the bubble vanished, and I swam to the edge.

#WIPSnips this comes from "The Forlorn Hope" a WIP from WAAAAY back in the timeline of my books, and I haven't finished it... It's at 95k words, but it's gonna have a horridly sad ending. So I've postponed the finishing of it. anyone else have a book like that? #Writesky

“You are bleeding,” she said and manifested a cloth. She put it to my nose, and I took it from her. I leaned over the table and set my free hand to my head. “She said more, but I cannot recall it. My head is pounding,” I said as pressure built. Forseti leapt the table, set both hands on my arm and his power rushed over me. The pain got worse for a moment, they spoke but I heard nothing coherent, and the world spun. Then suddenly, everything stopped, the world grew silent and still. A large hand rested on my shoulder, and I looked up into Odin’s face. “Can Sjöfn hear Asagrim?” he asked. I took a deep breath and blanched at the taste of blood in my mouth. I grabbed my glass, manifested water into it, and swished it around my mouth before spitting it into my empty bowl.

Snapshot: Autumn's Equinox, Chapter Two: “I just want to meet our guest and offer her other accommodations than your room or the reading couch. I think she’d feel better in a room with a door and four walls all her own,” a woman with a thick southern drawl answered her. I thought my accent was thick, but hers was Cajun with a New Orleans twist. Given the location it made perfect sense. I turned in time to see another stunning silver-skinned goddess, but this time I knew her. She was Ronnie Bhanríon, a model and tattoo artist who’d been on the cover of Skull and Roses Magazine four times. I had all four issues. I slowly sat up, placing a hand to my forehead, and she rushed over to sit on the couch beside me. Also, this is Ronnie. The silver skinned, HEAVILY tattooed goddess in her signature cut off shorts and crop top with her Tattoo and Piercing Emporium on it.

During the Create Your Own Novel panel at SDCC this year, the best proposal I have ever heard from another panelist was made, specifically: writers should have walk-on music like wrestlers when we come out for panels.
