Good on Pritzker, but cancel debt "The state said more than 694,000 residents across all 102 Illinois counties have benefited from the program. Illinois spent about $10 million in state funds to eliminate the debt, with the state saying every dollar invested erased more than $100 in medical debt."

JB Pritzker Says Illinois Erased $1.4 Billion in Medical Debt for Nearly 700,000 Residents: ‘People Want

Somehow, I don't think Ukraine is causing this problem. “He wants to make problems for the world,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Zelensky. “He wants to make problems for our farmers, our ranchers with diesel fuel because Russia supplies a large portion of the diesel fuel throughout the world.”

Hours after President Trump said the United States would buy Russian diesel, the Kremlin said there would be no immediate resumption of discussions to end the war.

The grift is strong with this one. "Guilfoyle had been chatting with Eric Deters, a former congressional candidate in Kentucky who was seeking her help in getting the attention of ... Trump ... on some personal tax and legal issues—and had promised ... as much as $1 million if she was successful."

It’s not a political party or a presidential administration. It’s just a giant bucket of dodgy schemes by morally reprehensible people.

Colorado GOP nominee for governor, Victor Marx, laughs as he recounts a violent fight with his wife: "I remember grabbing her, slamming her into our front door. She bent over and started crying."

If the workers of Ant, OAI, and GDM were all part of a union (e.g. a frontier AI guild), they could cooperate in ways that are illegal collusion for corporations. IMO, that would be a stronger alternative but achieve similar goals (slowdown for safety) of a cartel.

so long-term the way you'd expect this to go is that the players would slow down capex such that they can make money, but if you do that while your competitor is running at a loss you're roadkill, so everyone needs to slow down at once, which is why you need the cartel.

🧪 A.D.H.D. may be fundamentally mischaracterized as a deficit of attention. Brain imaging reveals stimulants alter reward and salience circuits rather than attention networks. A focus might be making routine tasks register as worth doing instead of filtering distractions. 🧠

Evidence suggests that it really affects what psychiatrists like me call sustained engagement — an important difference in understanding how to think about the condition.

Just one weird trick to undermine both Medicaid and ACA! "Basically, the rules would classify insurers as medical providers, meaning they would also be subject to H.R. 1’s regulations on provider taxes and fees."

Newly proposed federal rules would have “disastrous” impact on Medicaid, insurance funding, state says

Proposed federal rules could cut hundreds of millions of dollars annually for Medicaid and also impact health insurance programs, state says.
