Wisconsin is the Most This Simpsons Joke of anywhere on Earth
I mean, if you’re saving more carbon emissions by building density and mass transit, the carbon used in making it is insignificant and irrelevant. It’s like worrying about the one dollar spent to make 3. Same comes up when people complain about solar/wind production & decommissioning. Pointless.
Technically, they’re Remains now.
A fifth of Leave voters have died.
Good lord, no. That isn't a scooter, it's a human slingshot.
The Blade GT II scooter is one of many high-speed devices that are illegal to operate on city streets or bike lanes, but it is easy to order one online and have it delivered to an city address. “Zero to 53 in 3.9 seconds,” states the website for the $1,700 scooter.
I cannot tell you how many Wisconsinites sincerely believe running out of water here is a possibility. Look, y'all. By the time water conservation in WI is a problem, the rest of humanity is absolutely cooked. And the solution to the primary problem at that point would be guns not rationing.
The VA decision’s reasoning smells like a rat. It strains credulity that state Supreme Court justices would just go loosey goosey on time requirements, when legal systems are notoriously very strict & precise on time. They just ruled 1145pm on Monday is”almost Tuesday”, it now is in fact, Tuesday.
“Hey, just confirming if the building is destroyed due to fire, can it be rebuilt?” Me: “yeah, Wisconsin state statute 62.23(7)(hc) covers this.” Them: “Can we get that in writing on letterhead?” Me: 😑
Ahh, it seems we have discovered an individual of refined culture. "This is no ordinary world, friends of mine, hungry like the wolf, come undone at the sight of the wild boys.... ummm... Rio."
Article referred to you as (to the effect of) "White Woman Mamdami of the West" and person replied, "You fools! 'Ma'am-dani' was RIGHT THERE!!"
Hey, hey, hey. Now, let's not jump to conclusions. I was hundreds of miles away at the time.
We approved so many 1&2 family building permits in March, I got a call from the US CENSUS BUREAU today, b/c they thought it was a glitch. "Yeah, we see 72 permits in March, thanks for submitting the data! But... I went back aways, & 72 would beat the highest ANNUAL total we have for you all." 🏚️🏡🏘️
Omg please. Trash on the sidewalk is by far the worst part of NYC. Completely boggles the mind. He solves this he’s a legend.
Good news for New Yorkers, bad news for rats: all trash will be in rat-proof bins by the end of 2031. No more black bags on the sidewalks — it’s time to put a lid on it.

bluesky is and has always been a posting retirement home for elder millennials
I think one of the things about bluesky is that for a lot of its users, it represents a kind of retirement from social media. Like I’m tired and I want to get out of the game
Wisconsin's 6-story single-stair bill dropped last month with 9 bill sponsors. Oddly, the bill creates a council consisting of industry gatekeepers to author the single-stair code including an IRC expert even though 6-story projects would be under the IBC docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2025/related...

The 4 alternatives for Reimagining WI-175 are in. WISDOT indicate that public feedback has essentially ruled out the replace in kind option (yay!), and strongly prefers the "End Middle" and/or "End South" options. I agree, despite major quibbles with some design choices, esp the Cul-de-sacs. #MKE
You know, all the focus is on stealing and creepy aspects of AI, art, people impersonation, or whatever. But for a lot of applications its a complete game changer: leveling the playing field for those with ideas, but without the capital to pay armies of professionals for thankless grunt work.
"Just one more lane, bro!" Shenandoah mountain style! Virginia has about 325 miles of interstate 81, and the counties it goes through don't even get to a million people combined. Congressman Ben Cline just proposed widening the entire stretch from 4 to 6 lanes. a ~20 Billion dollar project???
Heya. Guys. The stress test needed on whether the “American experiment” is success or not just came back. I got bad news… Did anyone remember to save their game in 1966 or something?
Control sequel where you become Federal Reserve Chairman and need to use a variety of supernatural abilities, rituals, and cutting edge tech to prevent the economy from breaching containment and annihilating the material plane.
When I tell folks that data centers can be leverage to neutralize their bad effects, they think I'm talking sci-fi. Nope, not science fiction, just countries that function properly. Here an MS data center is tapped to heat water and homes in chilly Finland. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Power-Hungry Data Centers Are Warming Homes in the Nordics
By pairing computer processing facilities with district heating systems, countries like Finland and Sweden are trying to limit their environmental downsides.

Umm.. Wisconsin Dems better adopt Ranked Choice Voting fast. I don't wanna figure out strategic voting in a 12 way primary whose winner gets a plurality of 12% That just winds up with a candidate who wagered $1 more than the previous person on the Price is right. www.jsonline.com/story/news/p...

The default speed for private autos should be 25 MPH. If the car sees or senses a higher speed limit, then you can go up to that speed. We have the technology.
