I mean, if you’re saving more carbon emissions by building density and mass transit, the carbon used in making it is insignificant and irrelevant. It’s like worrying about the one dollar spent to make 3. Same comes up when people complain about solar/wind production & decommissioning. Pointless.

I cannot tell you how many Wisconsinites sincerely believe running out of water here is a possibility. Look, y'all. By the time water conservation in WI is a problem, the rest of humanity is absolutely cooked. And the solution to the primary problem at that point would be guns not rationing.

The VA decision’s reasoning smells like a rat. It strains credulity that state Supreme Court justices would just go loosey goosey on time requirements, when legal systems are notoriously very strict & precise on time. They just ruled 1145pm on Monday is”almost Tuesday”, it now is in fact, Tuesday.

We approved so many 1&2 family building permits in March, I got a call from the US CENSUS BUREAU today, b/c they thought it was a glitch. "Yeah, we see 72 permits in March, thanks for submitting the data! But... I went back aways, & 72 would beat the highest ANNUAL total we have for you all." 🏚️🏡🏘️

The 4 alternatives for Reimagining WI-175 are in. WISDOT indicate that public feedback has essentially ruled out the replace in kind option (yay!), and strongly prefers the "End Middle" and/or "End South" options. I agree, despite major quibbles with some design choices, esp the Cul-de-sacs. #MKE

You know, all the focus is on stealing and creepy aspects of AI, art, people impersonation, or whatever. But for a lot of applications its a complete game changer: leveling the playing field for those with ideas, but without the capital to pay armies of professionals for thankless grunt work.

"Just one more lane, bro!" Shenandoah mountain style! Virginia has about 325 miles of interstate 81, and the counties it goes through don't even get to a million people combined. Congressman Ben Cline just proposed widening the entire stretch from 4 to 6 lanes. a ~20 Billion dollar project???

Congressman Ben Cline Today, I testified before the House Transportation and Infrastuture Committee to advocate for Interstate-81 the construction of a third lane along the entire 300-mile length of Interstate 81 in Virginia. “Most notable for the region I represent is I-81, a road that stretches the entirety of my district from Frederick County in the North to Roanoke County in the South. With this vital roadway spanning six states, over 300 miles of which are in Virginia, I have continuously worked for improvements to I-81 “ Watch my full testimony ⬇️AADT Estimates by Region Tennessee border area (Bristol/Abingdon): 32,000 to 40,000 vehicles. Wytheville area: Traffic volumes drop to a low of approximately 23,000 just west of Wytheville, but rise at the I-81/I-77 overlap to about 46,000. Christiansburg to Salem: Volumes generally range from 38,000 to 43,000. Roanoke area: This section has some of the highest volumes, around 50,000 to 52,000 vehicles per day. East of Roanoke to Lexington (I-64 interchange): Volumes are around 30,000 to 33,000. I-64 overlap section: Volumes are relatively consistent at 32,000 to 34,000.
