Confirmation that the Brewers offered at least one prospect better than Hope (Luis Peña) and at least one, maybe two, other Top 100 prospect bats. That would certainly seem to be a stronger offer, but the Tigers wanted a pitcher as part of the deal.

One frustrating thing about baseball business analysis is the lack of publicly available, reliable information. What was truly offered in a trade? How much money is the owner pocketing? How many free agents were truly willing to sign with Team X? Nobody ever knows, but they get mad like they do.
As of today, only the Yankees in the AL have a better run differential than the Tigers, who are deadline sellers.
We shouldn't do public financing of stadiums but if we must then the cities/states putting up money deserve an equity stake in the team. Fair is fair

Functionally there is quite little need for anything but the fastball and curve at present, frankly. A wrinkle here and there to present another option and threat. Just a fundamental misunderstanding of who you’re calling pitches for.

Why are we letting 40% of the teams into the playoffs, deeply undermining the regular season, if this is how teams act?
I think if I were the MLBPA, I would be putting some heavy focus on the antitrust exemption, with an ad or two featuring a roomful of rich baseball owners smoking and playing poker deciding who is going to win, and who is going to pocket the revenue-sharing money.
Capital One’s lawyers would not have signed-off on closing Trump’s account unless the money laundering evidence was very strong; it would simply be way too much of a legal/reputational risk
