It only just occurred to me that the *relevant* here might have looked like I was being sarcastic, whereas in truth I was going for emphasis on the fact that their experts far more relevant than myself. Just so we're all clear

Other *relevant* experts have also now contributed to the damning criticisms of 'The Great #ADHD Myth?', with more professionalism than me. But less rage-fuelled snark. Which, let's be fair, is probably helpful www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... www.sciencemediacentre.org/expert-react...

Partner webinar: @aip.bsky.social is hosting a webinar providing a high-level overview of the Department of Homeland Security's recent rule impacting duration of status for international students studying in the U.S. Learn more August 12 at 12pm ET: spklr.io/63327EuSGB

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Understanding DHS's Duration of Status Rule. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

On July 17th, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule that replaces the longstanding duration of status framework with fixed periods of admission for certain nonimmigrants. What policies does the final rule change? What could it mean for the U.S. scientific research enterprise? This AIP Federation webinar will: - Examine key provisions of the final rule; - Explain how it differs from the August 2025 proposed rule; and - Discuss what it means for international students, researchers, and research institutions. The program will conclude with an extended audience Q&A. This webinar is intended to provide a high-level overview of the final rule rather than legal advice. The speakers will not be able to address individual immigration situations or provide case-specific guidance. About AIP: AIP is a federation that advances the success of our Member Societies and an institute that engages in research and analysis to empower positive change in the physical sciences. The mission of AIP (American Institute of Physics) is to advance, promote, and serve the physical sciences for the benefit of humanity.

...actually the Daily Wire "Lady Ballers" creators originally wanted to make it a documentary where they tried out for IRL women's basketball teams, but then they learned that they'd have to go on hormones in order to do it. That's why they made a fictional movie instead. Ben Shapiro said so himself

Note they’re doing this with the WNBA where majority of the players are black and not the NWSL which has more money. Because it’s not about “protecting girls”. It’s about policing and controlling women’s bodies. Introducing invasive arbitrary testing as a barrier to funding women’s sports.

Erin in the Morning Aug 2026 Two people who used a women's restroom in Bossier Parish LA's Cypress Black Bayou Park attacked by an angry group. One was taken to hospital and the other taken by police to a men’s jail. LA does not have a bathroom ban but the Parish voted to pass its own.

Trans Couple Brutalized At Louisiana Park Bathroom, Then Charged By Police

An angry mob allegedly beat them. The police charged them. The municipality voted for one of the most severe anti-trans bathroom ordinances in the country.

Posting fake eulogies is wrong and can cause people undue emotional distress. Take this for example - the momentary spark of joy that reading Carville died was immediately extinguished and replaced by profound anguish when I googled it and saw that that ghoul is still alive.

BREAKING: Longtime Democratic Party strategist James Carville has died at the age of 79. Born a swamp alligator, Carville bargained his soul to the Devil in exchange for human form under the condition that the Democratic Party never become hospitable to minorities.

My kids school district filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education today. The administration is threatening to withhold critical funding in an attempt to blackmail our schools into adopting anti-trans policies designed to hurt vulnerable children. I’m proud of our school board!

9. That is why, to those who understand the stakes, comments like Acton's likely read as a cancer on the party. And a candidate willing to throw transgender people under the bus to win has seemingly told every other minority exactly what their protection is worth when the polling gets tight.

A father in Idaho, speaking to police after his child died by suicide: “There is a huge amount of animosity, every single day, thrown at trans kids. The whole fucking country. The whole fucking administration, every single fucking day.” Please read this important story by @joyurcaba.bsky.social

Idaho pushed anti-trans laws for years. Then a teen died.

The life and death of May Pollard, 16, provides a window into the tragic effect that legislation and political rhetoric have had on trans people in America.

Election experts say that Biden won the 2020 election fairly. A guy who shits himself in public and struggles to pass basic cognitive tests says that Trump won. For busy voters, it can be hard to know who to trust.

The school district my kid attends is about to start charging students to use the school bus to help make up critical budget deficits. This will disproportionately impact students from low income households and create a hurdle to education. We need at abolish TABOR now so we can fund our schools!

I just want people to see how much this sucks and reconcile that with the fact until now they were perfectly OK with other people living in these conditions. Most of the produce grown in the U.S. is harvested by some of the most vulnerable members of our society under these kinds of conditions.
