1 million Portlanders by 2045 π²π§οΈπ¦«π²ππ°

Portland should aim for a minimum 2% average annual growth rate. People already want to live in Portland, we just need to make it cheap and easy to build homes. ποΈποΈπ²π²π¦«
Elect me as Mayor and I'll get this built at the Fred Myer site at Gateway

hotter urbanist take: we should ban left turns *completely* in many places. of all traffic signal phases, left turns are the least productive and serve the least amount of people. they dont work well with median BRT/LRT & transit signal priority, and it limits crossing times for all pedestrians.
On the beach across from urbanist Blueskyβs favorite development
clear lesson from detroitβs success on this issue is that you need to aggressive about knocking these structures down and that matters more than anything else www.wxyz.com/news/region/...

they're $3.98 each and they're not on the shelves yet but if you find a flat of them buried down at the bottom of a wrapped pallet you can get an employee to help you break the whole thing down and dig them out. there's christmas shopping sorted
they just released these and i will be buying a service for 10 or 12! i don't even have that many friends
I generally don't care much about expansion of Portland Streetcar, but a South Portland-North Portland line via an MLK transit mall would go hard (if done right).
This project should also be shaped to upzone the Central Eastside with an eventual target of at least 100,000 homes built. This would also require including a commitment to the infrastructure projects necessary to make that happen, such as removing I5 on the Eastbank & an MLK Transit Mall
Exciting news: Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability has released the Inner Eastside Status and Timeline Report!

gotta make it out next year for hopefully the last inner east side bike ride where weβll be celebrating the zoning changes that just passed
if you come to the portland neighbors welcome housing bike ride you get a zine that has a bunch of zoning maps in it and a page about the city's 1980 comprehensive plan
Well Iβm a sucker for a good zine @portlandneighborswelcome.org
