He/they - board games, JavaScript, random shitposting, corgis

Y'all. Please remember the artists that drew these things when sending around memes. I feel for these artists who NEVER get credited for these (and some, nowadays, are even being accused of being AI!) Here's a few common ones I see (feel free to add others, I want this to be a living thread): 🧵

I saw an ad for a board game on Kickstarter today and thought “I don’t need that, I have enough that are similar” I’ve been feeling like a midlife crisis is imminent — is this it?? 🧐

It’s so weird to be part of layoffs that are like major tech news apparently and not like when it was Indeed, where it was just yet another layoff in tech. Weird to hear people debating it all and seeming to disregard the humanity of those cut.

Block was a really great place to work for the past four months. Unfortunately, I’m part of today’s 40% layoff. If you need an old hand at web stuff, who has staff software engineering experience at multiple international corporations, hit me up. ❤️

I started a new job today, and it's kind of amazing the level of comfort that brings. I'd been employed for 22 years straight (ignoring weekends between jobs) and losing mine in July was jarring. However, it also seems like it was maybe the best thing for me.

I wrote a whole ton of random little experimental things using JS in like 2008, 2009, and I'm now working on creating a new personal website, and it's kind of a weird wild blast from the past to look at this code that had like, IE8 polyfills and jQuery 1.7 and such
