a lot of people will respond with "yeah, that's how taxes work." but it's not just charity, it's an investment that will drive down prices for everyone. good people are ok with charity, but it misses that a lot of public investments are net positives for everyone but the ultra wealthy.

1. Most bicycles are not going 25 mph 2. Bike crashes involving pedestrians are rarely fatal because of lower speeds and mass 3. The risks posed by bicyclists and cars to pedestrians are not equivalent 4. Why does no one ever say, "I support cars but they need to operate within traffic laws."

You can’t hear a bicycle coming at you and at 25 mph, there is enough force there to kill you. Both vehicles and bikes are hazardous to pedestrians. 

I support bikes but they need to operate within traffic laws as everyone else has to.

additionally, it's interesting what private equity is trying to get their grubby hands on now. real "there must be some change in the couch cushions" hours. nothing to invest in from the found up, so just trying to syphon what value, that's already developed, is left out there.
