I regret to inform you these are rookie numbers, NJ cop. Cortland and Kedzie during M-F morning commutes gotta be at least 75 stop sign runs per hour. Looking at phone while moving? Maybe 60% of drivers? Conservatively?

Yesterday, @bikegridnow.org hosted a Lincoln Avenue bike jam, showcasing the poor condition of the Lincoln Avenue bike lane on stretches through the 32nd, 43rd, and 47th wards. Organizers called on the alders of these wards to make improvements and keep people safe on this vital diagonal corridor.

For the doors to work, trains have to stop in the exact right spot where the trains doors match up with the doors on the platform. #wmata

Sure glad city council decided to spend a few hundred million on a new parking garage this week. Definitely a move that shows we are a serious city and are responding to the climate crisis with the urgency required.

I’ve been to a lot of Chicago political fundraisers in the last 15 years, during the Rahm years, saw a lot of Rahm at Ald fundraisers. During the Lori years, same (caveat of covid). Have not seen Johnson once.

I biked 20 miles between meetings today, but I did so because almost all of my route was concrete protected and felt safe - Humboldt Blvd, Augusta (good and bad parts), Milwaukee, Kinzie, Clinton, Randolph, Washington, inner blvd Kedzie, + Logan. But, I was basically just lucky!
Joseph Miscimarra 🇺🇸@jmisci.bsky.social · 3w agoIt’s a 100°+ heat index day, and the Clinton St bike lanes are still packed Such a missed opportunity that we haven’t done this in more places. There are dozens of streets that have a similar layout.
For better or worse it appears that there are about 300 daily runs that aren't going out across the rest of the system. We need to seriously look at automating the Blue Line and reallocating operators from Rosemont and Forest Park to other terminals to boost service reliability systemwide.
About 1 out of 4 Blue Line runs still aren't going out, not sure why that isn't a five-alarm fire in and of itself

What would our city look like with a +5% or +10% shift in each community area? Less pollution, less traffic, faster buses, more economic activity, more connected neighbors, fewer crashes, less need for road repair.
