"hmm maybe this whole Arday affair shows that we need to have a Serious Conversation about whether Woke 1.0 overreached in manner X, Y, of Z" motherfucker you are generally in Fascism 487.0, as is this particular affair you're talking about. worry about *that*. /Final

White professor ‘ MattGPT ‘ whose most recent book contained fabricated quotations, non-existent source references, & left ChatGPT URLs accidentally embedded in footnotes is sad about Jason Arday’s death but still wants Arday & all black academia held to higher standards than his own writing .

If you feel you have to jump on the AI train to not become irrelevant, don't fall for this narrative. It's a scam. You ARE relevant. You know your craft, you know what good work looks like. Trust your expertise. Resistance against AI hype can be that simple. Not easy (!!) but simple nonetheless. ❤️🧵

Sign that taking a break over the summer pays off: I almost reacted to some "are we ready for machine written history?" nonsense. Instead, I guffawed at the idea of "Well structured historical datasets" and moved on with a life well lived and time well spent without AI.

Britain’s tiny gaggle of hooting mad elite cranks, who all know each other and relentlessly repeat each other’s idiotic bullshit, are of course not “victims of social contagion”.

“Judge me by my actions” you say. Very well. The EHRC has converted statutory interpretation into prescriptive exclusion, declaring trans inclusion “very likely” unlawful although the Court ordered no blanket exclusion and expressly disclaimed policymaking. That is regulatory overreach.

Our code of practice for services, public functions and associations comes into force today. It provides practical guidance on how the Equality Act 2010 applies to services, public functions and associations. Find out more: https://ow.ly/alIf50Zwrkx

Quote from Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson: 'At the EHRC we want a society where everyone’s rights are respected and realised, so that we can all live well together. Our statutory guidance will help services across the country comply with the Equality Act, protecting service users from discrimination and harassment while reducing the risk of the provider being subject to litigation.

As Britain’s equality regulator, our work doesn’t end upon publication of this guidance. We monitor compliance with the law and take enforcement action where proportionate and necessary, in line with our well-established regulatory model and decision-making framework.'

PSA: If you use AI to write your I’m-interested-in-your-graduate-program email, do not proceed, do not apply, do literally anything else in the world but contact me ever again.

You know all of these "responsible" "A.i." education/literacy initiatives are bogus because they never include an option to JUST SAY NO. To OPT OUT. To REJECT "A.i." They're all ultimately designed to PUSH IT/SELL IT/FORCE IT on people.
