part of why the AI market is pushing "everybody is using it, it's inevitable" narrative: I've seen with people in my life the more you lean on it (and a lil bit slippery slopes towards more) it will make you worse at what you're doing until your output is as mediocre as anyone only using AI to do it

Customers are rejecting gen AI art,
music, articles, games, scripts, etc
if they still can find enough human-
made alternatives. AI industry benefits
if skilled people lose their advantage and
stop providing alternatives. If you have
experience doing a skill it will dull your
ability until your work might as well
be done by an untrained 20 year old
asking AI. Like how the auto industry
fights bike lanes, public transit, sidewalks.

The specific focus in this video on the way these tools get under your skin and train you to depend on them is an aspect I personally find existentially terrifying. youtu.be/TtvICev9sBE?...

virtually all of this year's socialist success at the federal level was built through victories at lower levels of government. if you want that for your region, in 2027 and 2028 you need to help launch an armada of lower-level socialist candidacies, so as to build the next wave of federal socialists

Here I go ranting again but it keeps coming up: I'm getting so fucking sick of people excusing their use of chatbots. Like "oh well I use GPT and Claude but just for really specific stuff, or code reviews, never for writing I would never" GET OFF THE DAMN CHATBOT
